Purchased for my mother and she loves this clock. You can change the music and it has a light sensor and knows when the house is dark so it won't play the music and wake you up while you're sleeping.

Depending on the lighting in the room, between glare on the cover and the lack of contrast between the hands and the face of the clock, it can be hard to read the time. If you're right next to the clock, you're fine. If you're trying to check from across the room, it can be hard.

I bought this for my grandson who I figured would be fascinated with the moving parts as well as the beautiful songs it plays. I was spot on because he loves at and can hum almost every one of them. It plays so many old familiar songs and also a number of Christmas songs. The only thing slightly negative about it is it’s size. I don’t remember reading the dimensions of it when I ordered it, but it’s really big. I have not hung it. I pull it out when my grandson comes over and it’s one of his favorite things at our house. The batteries last a really long time. It is plastic, but still looks nice and the moving parts remind me of a kaleidoscope. Not to mention the pretty Swarovski crystals! Anyone that has seen it thinks it’s great. I’m very happy I own it.
