2nd Order Again Not 2 Day Shipping
UPDATE on my review, a month after receiving: Indeed my little wee ones are now growing and look like miniatures of parents. Multiple colors of babies as well, just a reminder to not throw the babies out with the bathwater when the package arrives. They are hard to see in the package but if you look closely you will see the tiny micro babies, clear in color. I didn't want to mix the water with my tank water but so far so good and I didn't sacrifice losing any micro babies. Now they are growing and fun to watch them getting bigger. So glad I noticed them and didn't toss them out. Was pleased with my order 2 weeks ago so bought another batch. All are alive and beautiful array of colors. There are also multiple very tiny babies almost microscopic. Last time I chased them for hours as I couldn't bear to throw away live creatures. This time there were many more so I poured all shrimp and micro babies into my tank along withthe water. Hate mixing water but didn't want to lose any babies. Shrimp are thriving and active and I turned out the lights and fed them. I have moss and cholla wood in my tank which they love. The array of colors is as advertised and incredibly pleased again. However it isn't 2 day shipping. Took another 4 days in transit. Postman dropped at my door and I invited him in to see my other shrimp as well as the new ones. He was fascinated! My tank is in my office and I am constantly peering at my tank to see where the shrimp are. Most of these don't hide but I do have many safe places for them to hide. They adore the moss and are growing nicely.

I have bought 2 separate orders of the neoโs from SF Aqautics and each one the shrimp were lively, well packaged, the seller communicated very well. I received extra shrimp in the orders, all a different variety and colors. Iโve been lucky to get some good batches of rillis and some velvets. They are beautiful and thriving. None were dead on arrival, there were already hatched babies in, as well as already berried mothers! Which from the first batch at least 5-7 new fry made it and they are doing great! I was not getting the shrimp for intent to breed so I did not facilitate fry protocol, so if those are you r intentions Iโm sure the right conditions would be very successful. The size and health of the shrimp are pretty much accurate! They are lively, vibrant, the older ones are fairing very well and I just put the other batch in a few days ago! From the first batch to this one only 3 have passed which is to be expected because my shrimp tank was a new set up, so to be expected. They are really great sellers and will be very responsive with any help you need! They put a pamphlet in the pack explaining everything and what to do if any DOA or any shipping issues. They are on it for you! Definitely one of my favorite aquatic sellers.

Great shrimp
I've purchased these twice, would definitely recommend this seller. Count on getting a lot of brown ones from the breeding though, as to be expected with any skittles tank. My first order had 2 DOAs but several extra were in the bag all with vibrant colors, good variety, and very active and healthy. This was my first time owning shrimp and my tank was not well established so several of them didn't make it but the ones that survived my learning curve have had hundreds of babies in 3 months. Just purchased a second pack of these to get some new genetics, only one male survived from my first purchase so he is the father to all 100's of my babies so I have ended up with a lot of wild type shrimp babies (brown ones) from them breeding so I got some new ones to hopefully help. This purchase there was 1 DOA and again 2 extra shrimp plus a few couple day old shrimplettes that accidently made it into the bag but survived the trip. These ones were less vibrant colors then my first batch but still good variety and very healthy, immediately getting to work cleaning my tank.

Healthy, hardy shrimp with great colors
I was really wary about ordering shrimp through Amazon, even with the good reviews and all. I sort of expected them to all arrive dead or at least to die shortly after arriving. It's been about two weeks, though, and my shrimp are still thriving. I did have several dead shrimp in the bag that arrived, but only maybe 3-4 of them, which isn't bad. One also did die within 24 hours of being introduced to my tank. They add some extra into the shipment to account for that, though, so I still wound up with 19-21 shrimp (I counted several times and wound up with different numbers, but it's 20ish so I'm happy). The shrimp themselves are just kind of shrimp, so I'm not sure what to say about them. The colors are really vibrant and I did receive a nice mix. I was reminded to write this review because I logged in to order a second shipment for another tank I have, so I would definitely recommend these guys. ***Update: I did indeed order another shipment, and this one did not go quite as smoothly but was still an excellent experience overall. The issue was caused by delay during shipping which was beyond the seller's control (I was tracking the package and it had already left their care), and unfortunately by the time they arrived, only 7 shrimp were alive. I did release those guys into my tank and they are still doing well, amazingly enough. The instructions about what to do if shrimp arrived dead that were included in the packaging were very clear and easy to follow, although I was a little concerned because I had to take a picture in the sealed packaging and was having trouble getting a clear image. However, that turned out to not be an issue--the moderate-quality photos I got with my crappy phone worked fine. They weren't the best about communication, so it went like a week without a response and I was starting to think I should email them again without attaching pictures in case it got caught up in their spam filter, but then they did respond to say they had shipped replacements and gave me a tracking number. The replacement shrimp arrived a few days later, all healthy and in excellent condition. Overall an excellent experience. I only mentioned the minor lack of communication and the difficulty of taking the photo as a heads up to others, not because I found them upsetting or worth shaving off any points for.

Not impressed.
I liked the variety of colors. Upon arrival I counted the shrimp while still in the bag and there were only 20. When I open the bag to start the drip exclamation I noticed an odor, but thankfully all were alive. I'm glad because I did not receive the extra two as advertised. I noticed one or two were berried, so I guess that technically makes up for the missing two. They were what seemed to be stressed and I did not realize this seller did not include heating packs which is an error on my part. After I introduced them to the tank everyone seemed to be happy. Unfortunately within a few days I had lost four to five. A few days after that I noticed one that had green stuff on it and at first I thought it was pregnant. But I don't think those are babies. Unfortunately she did not make it. She passed shortly after she was pulled out of the tank to quarantine. I probably have about six out of 20 still alive after 2 weeks. I did not anticipate the outcome as I have ordered online before with no issues. Also there were no plants included as advertised and nowhere on the package did it say "LIVE" as it has in the past when I ordered. I believe they may have rust disease, which I don't know much about because I've not had this problem before until now and I've been shrimp keeping for a long time. If I could give minus Stars I would. I'm not even going to bother reaching out through the little piece of paper that came with the package because they were alive when they arrived and the paper says to contact if you have any dead on arrivals. It doesn't say please contact us if your shrimp are dying or if they all die within 2 weeks or if they have a fungus or rust disease. So I'm not going to waste my time. Hopefully my tank survives all of this with the other shrimp that I had prior to these guys. If not I may give up the hobby all together which is really sad. That said I would not recommend and I would not purchase again. Please do your research if everyone is saying the same thing then they're probably something to it and I should have listened but I thought maybe they just got a bad batch. Nope! And from what I'm reading the seller will not even get back with you. So we have false advertisement, sick and dying shrimp, and a seller that just will not respond. I did reach out to the seller via the Amazon app and a week later... crickets ...not a word. I will be contacting Amazon customer service tomorrow and we'll see where that gets me.

This is my second purchase from them and I will definitely buy again
Both times I ordered the package came super early. Only took 2 days from purchase this time. All shrimp came alive. Some are super vibrant others are not.. but that's one reason why I will always reorder from them bc I do not think it's right that places "cull" ugly shrimp. I actually love that they sell this 20 pack at less then half of the "perfect color" shrimp but really the coloring on them is still great. Actually out of 20 only like 3-5 are muted coloring. So you get 20 for less then 10 and if you want perfect color or a specific color go on their website they have some really really amazing ones. My overall favorite is the blue ones I received altho in the first bag I swear it looked like there was a black or super dark brown one too that is so pretty as well. They are all amazing tho. Also in my first bag 3 had eggs and in this bag 2 did. In the future I will definitely buy again from them. Especially with the deal it is. The fact that they all come healthy and alive, and some even with eggs. And some are so super colorful like the local store here would sell 1 of the yellow or red ones for $10 and these are more healthy and in better condition, and they have colors that the local pet store doesnt.. Also the first purchase I got was about 2 weeks ago and they're still all alive, altho really good at hiding so challenging to do headcount. Highly recommend buying. Especially directly from a place that deals with a ton of shrimp.. so they have the knowledge to make sure you only get healthy animals

Depends on seller
I have ordered twice once from SF AQUATIC and once from Plecos&Beyond. So I will rate my purchases separately. From SF AQUATIC I got a good selection of colors (red, blue, yellow, orange and a single black) and good male vs female ratio as well as sizes. I got a decent amount of large females and a couple of them had eggs which have since hatched and I have several tiny cute babies in red and blue. It was package with care in a several bags and a box that had styrofoam cut to fit the box perfectly I was sent exactly 20 but it arrived with 2 dead. With Plecos&Beyond I doubled my order so I ordered 40. I was sent 41 double bagged and wrapped in several layers of news paper inside the box. One of the bags sprung a leak and some of the shrimp got pinched between the bags but managed to survive. Of the 41 only 1 is struggling and looking as though it may not make it. However I was not sent a good variety of colors and I want to say I got a lot of males but as I got mostly smaller shrimp it is still hard to say. I was sent mostly grey shrimp which was kind of disappointing, followed by several blue and only a few of the brighter colors which I prefer as they are easier to see against my black substrate. So depending on what you are looking for each seller may have its pros and cons. I don't think I would purchase from P&B again just based on the quality of what I was sent. I appreciate that they were healthy and arrived alive but getting 20 greyish shrimp wasnโt what I was looking for! If you donโt care about the color then I will say they seem healthy and in good shape overall. SF was packaged better but came with doa and older shrimp but good colors. If I order in the future I think I will order from the Las Vegas based company as they are the closest. The photo is from my shipment from Plecos&Beyond. Generally it would probably be best to find the seller closest to where you live so your shrimp have less time being shipped around. Also make sure temps are agreeable! :)

I still have shrimp in 2026!
I'm still super happy with my little babies! I purchased this item in 2024 and still have beautiful, colorful shrimps, although I do also have some wild color, which is to be expected. If you understand shrimp, you'll understand the color genetics and why that happens with multiple colors in the same tank, as the reproduce. Definitely recommend this supplier!
