Does this work to clean food stains off glass electric cooktops?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but don't get me wrong, it will not clean it as well as, say Fantastic cleaner. However, I am much happier using a little more elbow grease with a more natural product than using a product full of chemicals.  My mother used to say, "If I can't buy the ingredient listed on a product in my local store, then it is probably something that I shouldn't be using anyway."  Kind of my thoughts exactly.

does it kill stuff like flu virus?

I saw an episode of Cook's Country on PBS where they tested this cleaner as well as some anti-bacterial cleaners.  Their results showed that this plant-based cleaner did not kill 100% of germs, but did wipe out the vast majority of them, at least in the mid-nintieth percentile, I believe.

Dystopiandoll said she adds thieves oil or on guard to help kill germs.  i wonder how many drops per bottle of cleaner?

Honestly, I would not recommend this.  First, the method advertises to kill 99.9% of germs, as do most other cleaners, natural or not.  Adding some sort of oil isn't going to make it more effective - if anything, it might make it less effective.  That's not some sort of super-scientific opinion - but then again, there's no real science backing up the use of these oils, either.  I have found these Method products to be SUPERB, and if anything, my family gets ill far less often than we used to.  Since I quit trying to "kill every germ" and went more natural with my cleaning (although I still clean every surface quite frequently) I notice improvements in all areas of our health, which should be expected since we aren't meant to live with all these harsh chemicals.  Your body needs to build immunity.  Just my two cents.

Does it disinfect?

No this dosn't... BUT, it is a really great product, I have a bottle in the kitchen and each bathroom, I also keep a spray bottle of the Clorox cleanup next to it in kitchen for disinfectant if needed
