Ellington is always great
This isn;t the best Ellington I've heard but it is still worth while. I would have prefered to hear Ellington's intrs, rather than French translations.

as an avid collector of "ellingtonia" its a constant source of amazement as to where these recordings keep comeing from!! despite the average picture & sound quality and the french speaking radio commentator,its not at all bad,the medley at the end is the best part as it features the dukes piano playing very well...

Duke Ellington Montreal 1964
Gern hätte ich 5 Punkte vergeben, wenn der Kameramann -wenn auch s/w gefilmt- darauf geachtet hätte, das Konzert ohne "Grauschleier" zu filmen. Entschädigt wird man dafür mit toller Big Band Musik. Duke Ellingten präsentiert eine Top-Besetzung, die wahrlich begeisternd aufspielt. Da ist jeder Ton, jeder Takt ein musikalischer Hochgenuss.

Get it for Your Collections
It filled a gap in my Ellington music; but it was in mono, not stereo. It was a CBC TV (I believe TV) mono recording. It covered some of the Ellington classics (e.g, The A-Train) and some I hadn't heard before. A good addition to my Ellington music.
