I needed this to keep the camera running for long periods of time. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have enough current to do this. It continuously seems to shut off while plugged in.On a side note, it seems the pins are not connected to the end of the power adapter well at all, after plugging it in once, the pins on the tip of the connector have started to curve outward. Meaning to plug it back in, I have to hold the pins to the connector and carefully slide it in to the camera properly.

I use it for videos where I myself am speaking into the camera, on a Sony A99ii SLT, indoors, or where I might be using it on zoom meetings. This obviates the worry about the battery running out. I do not need to remove the battery, like in the mirrorless cameras, to put in an AC powered dummy battery. On A99ii, the direct DC in socket is located at the side and away from the battery compartment. Just plug in this power adapter and off you go.I do not know how much an original Sony adapter might cost, but this one is a steal.

Product is as advertised.I have a Sony SLT-A77V and the adapter works properly. It IS a tight fit, but when oriented as it should the adapter will plug into the camera. As I write this review it is connected to the camera. When adapter is plugged in and camera is turned on the camera does NOT show the battery icon AND I am able to remove the battery from the camera as the AC adapter is providing the power. See attached picture.NOTE... The adapter came with a printed 'Declaration' about working with Sony Alpha SLT A57 and A77.

I found the original Sony adapter too expensive and purchased the Glorich AC-PW10AM instead. Plugged right in and has been running my Sony a99ii perfectly. The connector fits VERY snugly, so be sure to apply some pressure when plugging it in.

I found the original Sony adapter too expensive and decided on the Glorich AC-PW10AM. Plugged right in (correct connector) and has been running my Sony A77 for almost a month straight doing time lapse work. PERFECT!
