I'm buying these filters instead of other brands because these are made in America. Support our fellow citizens and buy American, not the crap produced by the slave labor of the Chinese Communist Party.

Will such a high merv rating be okay for my air handler?

The filters hard on systems are those mesh metal. Hard for the air to get through. This type is very good and seem to last longer that the cheap blue no pleated filters.I am pleased with mine and only use this type in my unit that works 12 months ..AC and then Heat. Just make sure the size is correct for your unit.

What kind of debris will a new air filter capture?

For my household it captured dog hair, dirt, and an unbelievable amount of dust.

Yes, they have metal wires I have used them for years. Good price and filter. I change out every 3 months but if extreme hot weather with AC on a lot change out 2 month
