This is a really well made product, and is much, much better than trying to use a wooden spoon when doing ferments. Not just for sauerkraut. Can use for fermenting apples, kimchi, and a whole variety of other items. I tried without at first (using the wooden spoon). Getting much better results now. Highly recommend.

Used to use a rubber mallet inside a plastic bag and tamped down before putting in ceramic crock. Moved up to this which is so much easier. Recommended.

I got this hand cleaner hoping to clean my hands, its ok, I work in a automotive machine shop, and i get really dirty some times, and this Grandpa Gus's doesn't get the deep grit out of my hands, even using a nail brush on them, it has a sort of pine scent to it, and it leaves my hands a little dry, i wont be buying it again, but it great to use on other things such as parts, your floor, any thing that is hard to get clean, even in the washer..i hope this helps

Leaves your hands a little slick if used without water but cleans well
