Waste of money, no improvement, hard and risky installation, permanent cosmetic changes to controller - not worth it!
This thing is 'ok' but not worth it. I've not seen any improvement on my range, stability or quality of the feed from the drones camera to the controller. The ease of installing it...was not easy...it was (in my opinion) a major undertaking, not one that I would have engulfed on had I known what I was getting in to. Opening the controller completely, drilling holes, re-running wires...definitely not a simple add-on! I regret the purchase and wish I would have spent double the money for a real product (ask me for the link and I'll provide it) where you send them your controller and they install & test a truly good range extender.Only reason for 2 stars and not just 1, is that the thing works...it did not make the signal any worse and possibly made it a hair bit, very slightly, better in dense areas (trees & buildings), but for the purpose of the description (Range Extender)...it fails.

No instructions, or technical specs included.
I've already installed another kit, that came without instructions.So luckily I don't have to disassemble the remote and replace the of antenna wires.Unless I want to switch them out completely.But It really gets on my nerves that sellers are shipping DIY gear without any supporting documentation.Just missing out on so much info on what other things this antenna can be used for.I would like technical specification to be included with a product.A hundred dollar antenna deserves to have one slip of paper in the package with links at least.Going to try and hook this thing up to my HackRF and see what happens.

Get the clean install kit!
Would be nice if they all came with the clean install kit! Was disappointed to find it after the fact!

Most Excellent!
Most excellent! Installation requires very little skill, basic tools and was very straightforward. It's very lightweight when mounted and, in the area I generally fly, has extended my range approx 60%. I'm not generally a distance flyer though and usually stay within a 1 mile radius. It's great peace of mind being able to maintain full signal strength at ALL times within my normal operating distance and no longer have to do "the antenna dance" to maintain RC signal and video feed.My only criticism would be that I wish a "clean install kit" (uses the stock antenna holes) came standard. No drilling required and allows a person to also use simple screw on type antenna omnidirectionals for short distance hops.Excellent bang for the buck!

Best purchase ive made for my drone
This is the best idea ever. I will caution you the installation is a little tricky but they have plenty of videos online on how to do it. Dont buy a cheaper one spend the extra money and do it the right way with this one.
