These shirt stays have the needle... it will stay.
This is the same setup I used when I wore my USMC Dress Blues “C/D,” and Service “B/C.” It definitely keeps the shirt tight and taught. Now that I’m in law enforcement, I use the same ones. The only down side is if you sweat heavy like I do, the metal buckles will start to rust. Mine lasted approximately ten months before I had to buy another pair.Be warned, there is a needle in the middle of the clip. This will ensure the clip will never slip off accidentally. The downside is it will leave little holes in your shirt after repeated use. I primarily use it for uniforms, so i don’t mind.I bought a different pair without the needle. When I had to chase someone, one of them came off. It was not fun having a shirt stay dangle from your socks. This pair is designed to ensure it will stay one. I would give it 4.5 overall (half point for rusting buckles after a heavy sweat).

High Quality Made in USA
The clips work great but they can damage surrounding area so I swapped out some of them with conventional clips

Great product
So far these have been the best shirt stays I’ve had. The design helps it stay and place and even if you pull hard on it, it doesn’t come off.

Keeps big shirts looking smart
I recently lost 25 pounds and consequently, none of my dress shirts fit right anymore. They were a bit big on me before, but now they're just tents. I got a couple tailored in, but that's too expensive to do on all of them. These shirt garters are almost as good in a pinch. Then clip to the front, sides, or back of the shirt (below the beltline) and then to the socks, tensioning both together at whatever tension you set. It takes some initial fitting, but after several hours sitting/standing/walking, my shirts stay taut and all the billowing is gone. Honestly, that's 75% of the noticeability of too-large shirts anyway. This model has a pin in the clasps to keep the fabric from pulling out. I think it's a great feature.

BEST EVER
27 years in law enforcement and year after year I’d have to order new shirt stays. NEVER before have I had a pair worthy of a review. These are awesome

Keeps your socks up and your shirt tucked in.
As long as you understand that in order for these shirt stays to really grip and make it easy to install, the unit punches a hole into the shirt and socks to work. If you put your shirt stays on too tight, you run the risk of tearing a little hole at the bottom of your shirts. Once you have the shirt stay at the correct length, the shirts will not rip and the holes will be non-existent. I like how simple and easy they are to install every day.

Good design. Poor snap closures.
I’ve had these about 7 weeks. These shirts stays will not allow the shirt or sock material to slip through the clamps like most. They’re great for uniforms. And the strap adjustment clamps don’t slip like most do. My big complaint is that the snap closures don’t snap closed onto the socks, they just close. Because of this, there’s not enough tension on the closure to stay closed. They just come unclamped during the day sometimes. If you wear shirt stays a lot, you know this is worst case scenario. I wish the USA manufacturer would tweak them a little.

I use them everyday for work, elastic seems to last longer than some other brands I've used, and tacs keep them from popping off. I've seen some reviews about people being worried about the tacs damaging the shirts, really doesn't hurt them, just leaves a little pin size hole.
