I have worn cole Haan shoes for many years and in particular this pouch tassel loafer. I ordered this pair to replace the exact same shoe I haD been wearing for over a year. The new shoes looked identical when viewed on the Amazon website however the shoes I recieved did not match. They were far shinier, and the soles looked somewhat different. The stitching looked cheesy and pressed rather than real stitching. Despite my better judgement I kept them honestly cause I was too lazy to return them. This was a month or so ago. Fast forward to today I wore them for the first time. The left shoe is a bit too large and was skipping off my heel but inside the shoe the thin leather footpad covers on,y half the footbed. With every step I take the edge of that cheap piece of leather is rolling up creating an extremely uncomfortable lump under my foot.Terribly shoddy construction, inferior products and a cheap look that makes me wonder what on earth cole Haan was thinking when they made these shoes. If I can return them at this late date to Amazon I will. I won’t ever purchase cole Haan shoes again. Off to Johnson and Murphy and similar brands. Junk shoes do not trust the pics snd run the other way. Plenty fo other manufacturers to choose from.

I have worn Cole Haan loafers for years and have always been more than satisfied with the way they hold up and wear. It would not be uncommon for me to have a pair re-soled and -heeled many times because the top side aged so well. Something has changed - the leather is thinner and has less structure to it; the sides in the area in front of the heel and below the ankle almost immediately developed a warped or wavy appearance. I sent the first pair back and am now breaking in a second pair with the hope that it will do better than the first. However, the same problem, to a lesser degree, appears to still be there and it is apparent that the Cole Haan loafer that I enjoyed and got such good wear out of in the past is no longer being made.
