Wrongdoers

Awesome and dramatic album with adrenline rush.
I was impressed with all of the songs, and the songs all distinguish from each other, laying itself a path of journey from beginning to the end. I haven't stopped listening to this fast paced (except for sun dies, blood moon, which reminds me of the awesome version of Disconnecktie. It's like a brother.), and it's thoroughly satisfying brutal. And in the booklets, the lyric are hard to read, which is typical of Norma Jean. It's a good thing because they're still cryptic about their lyrics. It's amazing album. It reminds me of Redeemer/Meridional mix.

Best
Absolutely the best Norma Jean album ever put out and without a doubt one of the best albums of 2013. If you love old Norma Jean this album is for you, if you love new Norma Jean this album is for you, if you dont know who Norma Jean is this album is for you. Jim Cramer of Mad Money has one thing to say about this album and its BUY BUY BUY!

Another classic from Norma Jean
If you're not a fan of the genre, no amount of convincing will persuade you, but if you love metalcore you can't do much better. Aggressive most of the time, melodic some of the time, and technically brilliant throughout, Wrongdoers is a nonstop onslaught of heavy greatness.

Good but not the greatest Norma Jean (understandably)
Any fan of Norma Jean can acknowledge the up's and down's this band has had for the past decade. With that being said I think "Wrongdoers" was released during a down-turn of the band's history and it shows. This album (unfortunately) lost original members and gained new ones, which I think will prove noticable changes in any group. In comparison to Norma Jean's other works, I'd rate this one being better than "Anti-Mother", but still falling short of their other albums. It is certainly a stretch from their last album "Meridional" which I think is one of their best albums next to "Redeemer". I had high hopes for this album, but after hearing about the band's change ups and difficulties in writing "Wrongdoers" I feel like it shows and was a solid drawback.I think an obligatory track that comes with most Norma Jean albums is the 9-12 minute instrumental/jam; however this is another aspect where "Wrongdoers" fails...the last track "Sun Dies.." clocking in at 14 minutes starts off very well and is on it's way to being a great, lengthy track; however that all ends at the 8 minute mark and the remaining 6 minutes sounds like they left the recording on by accident which picked up feedback and meaningless banging around.Overall it is still enjoyable and has some great tracks - see "Hive Minds" "Wrongdoers" "Sword In Mouth...".

Rock and Roll Mystics
Those who have ears to hear, let them hear. And those who have eyes to see, let them see. Norma Jean transcends pop and culture to create something...well...er...something...transcendant. On a scale of five stars they once again rate a sky of stars.

I just like this CD
I've been a NJ fan for years. I've photographed and videoed em for quite some time. I've been up close and personal live and a listener. This album makes me happy. I'm not fatigued by listening frequently. Taste great-less filling.

RightDoers
In Wrongdoers Norma Jean have created what is easily their finest record. The 11 track album combines the brutality, emotion and energy of such songs as Face/Face or The Anthem of the Angry Brides from previous NJ releases with the musicality and more melodic/'traditional' song structures reminiscent of songs from Redeemer, The Anti-Mother or Meridional. While seeing a comparison to the 'Anti-Mother' can sometimes be frightening to longtime Norma fans, I can reasure you that although Wrongdoers can sometimes feel familiar to that album it is probably most similar to Meridional (or possibly even Redeemer at times). Having said that, this isn't simply a rehash of their previous outing. In keeping with the tradition of the band, Wrongdoers continues the trend of being completely different from the quintets previous release, while remaining distinctly 'Norma.'Naturally there will always be stand-out tracks on an album (for me these are 'If you got it at five...', 'Neck in the Hemp', 'Sword in Mouth, Fire eyes' and 'Sun Dies, Blood Moon') but unlike a lot of releases, both new and old, Wrongdoers has no 'filler'. None. From start to finish you will be hooked. From the southern chaos feel of the single 'If you got it at five, you got it at fifty' to the brutal breakdown in 'Neck in the Hemp' and the 'epicness' of 'Sun Dies..' which is similar to previous NJ songs; 'Falling from the Sky: Day Seven' and 'Disconnecktie', the album ebbs and flows between beauty and brutality perfectly, never letting up in quality. This is NJ's greatest achievement with Wrongdoers in fact, it feels and flows perfectly as an album rather than just a collection of songs from the same band. While some will wish for NJ to return to their roots and recreate Bless the Martyr, Kiss the Child, that album has had its time, Norma have done that sound and I feel it's time to let them move on (as long as they don't make another Anti-Mother, even though I quite like it). And to be honest, if they didn't keep 'evolving' and tweaking their sound, fans would complain of each record being a rehash of their last.Simply put, this is the best album Norma have ever released (though admittedley it only slightly beats BTMKTC or OGTA in my opinion). An instant classic! The only downside (and admitedly a tiny one) is the near 5 minutes of noise at the end of the final track. I will never understand why bands do this. Really annoys me.
