A reliable and easy to use monitor
Reliable and easy to use monitor that pairs greatly with Alexa and other smart home devices. You can set up a routine to turn on an air purifier if the monitor detects the air quality falls under a certain number, as an example. Sleek, small, and modern device that works reliably with coprehensive data about the air quality. Although I use Google Home on everything else, everything was easy to learn and there was no issues.

Good, but not convinced about VOCs?
I had a wood burning stove so we have to have a CO detector nearby. Our old one is getting on so rather than just getting another dumb CO detector I thought I would get a unit that also detects PM2.5 - the bad 'particulate matter' that get's spoke about. There's a few of those about, but Amazon's own gadget seemed reasonably priced for what it can detect plus we use Alexas all over our house and I like the Alexa integration. To install you literally just plug it in and use the Alexa app to join it, done. There's an LED on the front that show green, amber or red for air quality, plus detailed info/charts in the Alexa app. This thing has literally saved a couple of ugly situations already - one of my young kids lit a candle, panicked and put it behind our TV, almost setting fire to cables and maybe more but the AQM started to say the air quality was getting very poor. Our kid owned up and we found the candle. You can configure actions in the Alexa app, e.g. tell me or do something if PM or CO exceeds a certain level. It does humidity, temperature, CO, PM2.5 and VOCs. The PM detection seems to work. We had our chimney swept last week and I noticed the Amazon AQM detected PM 2.5 shooting up then gradually tapered off after the sweep was done. Now I know why these guys suit up in biohazard gear and ask us not to stay in the room. The VOC detection is the only question mark for me... it is not clear to me what exactly these are (volatile organic compounds). It's definitely true lighting something like a scented candle sends these though the roof - maybe despite the nice smell these things are bad for your health!? - but we have had random VOC alerts with the unit showing there is a bad VOC level, yet we haven't got anything on, cooking, burning, spraying, that we can think of. I see a few others reported 'stray VOC alerts' about this too. Amazon will likely look into it but if you can ignore the few false alerts about VOCs, I like it.

Great Monitor
Its nice to know how the air quality is in various places. This is so easy to set up and works with Alexa. You get a decent account of how the air quality and as I suffer from Asthma its always good to have more knowledge of whats going on around you. Overall its a fantastic piece of Tech.

Only one thing missing!
I have one of these, and use it to control my air purifier which doesnt have a VOC sensor. The only annoyance is that it relies on passive air sampling, rather than a little fan to actively draw the air in over the sensor. This would make it much more reliable. I hear the little fan when it first powers up but it stops shortly after, so a minor firmware update would correct this.

Great little device perfect for automating my air purifier!
I bought this air quality monitor because my new air purifier doesn’t have an auto mode, and this has been the perfect solution. It gives me real-time readings for temperature, humidity, and PM2.5 levels, which is really helpful to keep an eye on the overall air quality in my home. I’ve set up smart routines so that when the air quality score drops below 50, my purifier automatically switches to a higher speed — and it works perfectly. The readings seem accurate and respond quickly when I do things like cook or open a window. It’s also handy to have temperature and humidity displayed, so I can monitor the overall comfort of the room at a glance. Overall, it’s a great little device that does exactly what I needed — reliable, responsive, and perfect for automating any purifier that doesn’t have its own smart sensors. Highly recommend!

Just average
Its just average, ok. I wouldnt pay full price, you get air purifiers that have it built in for the full price of this. However, it does what it says, it monitors the air and has a nice colour coded light so you dont have to check the app. It does change when im cleaning spraying chemicals etc. So does seem accurate and works as it should. Nice small size, easy to use and set up. But lack of features for the price, seems very basic for £60+ (I paid £20 and am happy with that)

Brilliant and enlightening. Used to monitor 3D printer VOCs. Demo of VOCs with superglue
This was a brilliantly insightful addition to my workshop. Simply plug and play. I have been 3D printing for some time now with little worry of any air born particles that it might give off, however with a little one on the way I was more curious. I purchased this with the knowledge that it can measure particles and VOCs in the atmosphere. However I am also impressed that it measures, Temperature, Humidity, PM (particulate matter) and Carbon monoxide. The information provided is excellent, and only takes 7mins for the sensor to calibrate itself. It then takes regular samples of the air feeding information to your mobiles device via Alexa. You can also ask Alexa for an update. I have added a pic for the VOCs just to demonstrate how it works when I used some super glue at 5:50pm. You can see how the 3D printer is a steady and safe 9, then the super glue shoots it up to 37. Whats more when I was preparing the item in question to glue I also did some sanding of the item. This actually showed up on the particulate matter reading as can be seen from my pictures. A brilliant piece of kit and I ma now at much greater piece of mind.
