Master the Boards USMLE Step 3

Okay, it's now time to again to dump the metaphorical explosive C. Diff Patient onto Conrad's normocephalic shiny dome. Let's begin with the book this is the fourth edition and I was kind of hoping that it would be packed full of great new information that would be helpful for the new modified step 3, but alas disappointment. Like all new versions this book is pretty much just like the old ones with maybe a couple of new pictures and a few new words tossed it ultimately making little to no difference. Sure did Conrad throw in handfuls of useless step one references and the answer is yes, but are these references useful for your exam the answer is no. You're better off rereading your first aid from step one.Now if you're a real sucker like myself you'll shell out even more money to pay for Conrad's mastering the boards video lectures for step 3. Where you can see Conrad and a few of his buddies literally read you MTB step 3 book. Audible could do a better job and would be much more affordable. You would hope that they would throw in lots of new information in these video lectures but unfortunately the videos are pretty much then reading the book word for word. Occasionally, a new photo or diagram, but ultimately nothing useful and nothing special. Conrad repeatedly tells you the video lectures are more up to date than the newest fourth edition MTB book but he's constantly lying as so many of his videos are not up to date compared to some of the literature in the book. At the very least he is bubbly and entertaining to watch, which is something you can't say about the other two readers. Ultimately, this product is a disappointment and I wish I had a different product to recommend but I do not. If you use this product you may pass but you most definitely won't kickass.

Great book, you do not even need the newest edition. This one works great. Got me a 260 on step 2 with just 2 weeks of studying from this and Uworld. Love the review and its only the perfect amount of the most relevant information you need for success on step. Master the boards is the equivalent in value of first aid for step 1

This is a decent book for step 3 review, provided that there are not much better books out there. Some sections are very dry to read. There are some nice charts and tables which can facilitate cramming.1st Update: After reading a couple of chapters, I found some formatting errors in some tables and texts, which makes it confusing which one is which.2nd update: After reading a few chapters now, there are some errors. These kind of errors should have been avoided, especially for being 4th edition. I am dropping my rating to 2 stars now.

MTB is very trusted book for exam purposes, but it seems as if it is declining as the author is inclining toward personal publishing. Though the book has biostatistics, it does not even cover those topics that is made up on day 1. Aside from content, there are various errors in the book where even contacting the author previously, did not make changes in obgyn section of spontaneous abortion, also there are errors that can cause detrimental point loss due to wrongly misnaming diseases. There are few errors in coronary artery disease for the testing and using adenosine and thallium ekg. I wish I could had returned this and bought the ck mtb since this book has errors that can be costly, but if you love MTB and have time to patch it up, i recommend it.

To my knowledge there is no other book to give quick and concise review of all the subject material. I would like to think that 85-95% of what is covered in this book will be touched upon in some form on the exam. I have only began reading it now. However i would like to point something specific i found. In the first chapter which reviews biostats, they talk about being +1 standard deviation above the mean and it sitting at 86th percentile. I think this is wrong, small overlooked error on math. If you add the math up, i believe the correct percentile should be 84. Again, slight error, but if you are reading the book intently and catch small things like this, i would like to think a person is on the right track, hopefully. Again nothing is free of being fallible. Hope Dr. Fischer takes a look at this and lets me/us know if we are correct or if i am missing something? But nice book and i do enjoy the layout of this edition - *note i have not read the previous edition.- I bumped it up from 4 to 5 stars because of the feedback from both Book Support and the authors via personal email messages.I am truly happy and appreciative for the support behind their product. I will endorse it too anyone who ever asks me what i used to study for this exam.

Please do not purchase the kindle version of this. It is SO difficult to read, and the tables are ineligible. I am very disappointed and wish I hadn't spent money on this. I don't think I would use this if it was free. Wish they had a standard PDF for purchase.

Seems like just about every other master the boards book. Good information, but it is a review book and doesn't go into great detail much of the time. May need to supplement it for review, but otherwise they haven't failed me yet.

Its way more disorganized than MASTER THE BOARDS STEP 2CK. Lacks a lot of info. I suggest buy another book to go along with this one.

The book arrived on time and neatly packaged. the cover was intact and the pages crisp and clean. The book is certainly all that the author intended. It provides easy reading. Apart from minor grammatical errors this proves to be an excellent guide for anyone preparing for the medical board examination. There is not much difference in terms of information between this and Master the Board Step 2 apart from some important highlights that are specific CCS tips. I do not regret the purchase and would encourage anyone preparing for the medical boards to add this as a must have study guide.

Great book for quick review . I am not sure that this book cover all things about the exam because it is tooooooo brief and you can not find any detail.
