as the one star reviewer wrote, back to channel locks. These pliers worked great at the start of my power steering rack and pump rebuild project. Really they are so much better than using channel lock pliers! But not durable is another phrase from a review that I have to agree with. My pair broke, literally while reinstalling the last hose of the project and the clip, washer and gripper stud went flying...I found 2 of the three parts...but any time I had saved on using these purpose-built pliers was easily lost a few times over trying to fish the parts from the top of the engine block. At least it was on the last hose to be reinstalled.Maybe the cheapest set with the highest reviews isn't the best way to buy tools. Buy these if you don't care about durability.

Clamp hoses like a CHAMP!!
These pliers are amazing!!! I've had numerous hoses that have needed clamping, and this does the trick!! It works so well, I've even started clamping my neighbors hoses. Durable, sturdy handles, and quality design that gets the job done! This tool will last forever...I plan to pass it down to future generations for their hose clamping needs.

Works Great
I used this when working on my mini cooper and it worked great. I've done simple things with my mini in the past and just having this tool this time around saved me loads of time. Makes grabbing the weird European clamps much easier.

No more pliers/Channellocks slipping off the large, stiff air intake clamp on my VW. The action is smooth and the ratchet holds and releases precisely.

I recently purchased this for using on my 1985 Jeep CJ7 restoration and I love the ratcheting function to get spring clamps off hoses.

Threw it in the garbage, back to my Channel Locks
Doesn't lock. The locking cam mechanism is rounded just enough to slip off under pressure of the the hose clamp. Also, the slotted head rotates which makes no sense. The hose clamp "tang" that the head fits to is always at 90 degrees, so having a rotating head just adds to the frustration. Threw it in the garbage, back to my Channel Locks.
