These tablets are a must have for any grind and brew machine or for your daily use grinder. They are excellent at removing oils that will eventually clog your grinder. Every couple of weeks I add them in before I fill the hopper, grind through and then it's done. Simple and easy, they work very well and they're not expensive.

First time ever used this type of Coffee Grinder Cleaning Tablets, it's amazing how quick and effortless it is to use. Ran the first packet through the machine and the years of old stuck espresso grounds came out with it. Package said if not used before running a second packet thought and even more came out. Now the Burr grinder sounds like it's new and running better than ever. Had I known prior I would have never waited this long. My $400.00 Burr grinder is like new again.

Decided to try this product out after reading about it on one of the coffee sites I read. After performing the normal cleaning routine on my burr grinder (brush, paper towel), I added one tablet and ran my grinder set to medium as directed. As others have noted, the tablet generated a fair amount of dust in and around my grinder, but it did pull out additional grounds my normal cleaning routine was unable to capture. My grinder appears to run smoother and produce a more consistent grind after using the tablet. The taste of my coffee seemed fresher, more balanced. Note, I tend to use dark roast coffee beans. This roast generally produces more oily beans. So, the tablet likely helped to remove residual oil from my grinder. I am curious to see how long the cleaning benefit lasts. While the use of the tablets is quick and easy, the only drawback in the process is the need to grind (and dispose of) beans immediately after the tablet. I ended up using an inexpensive light roast I had on hand.

It is an exceptional product and does an outstanding job of keeping your grinder clean. I had a gourmet coffee store and in a commercial setting I used Urnex products. They make many products to help you keep your coffee equipment clean which in turn extends the life of the machinery and makes a better tasting cup of coffee. It gives you better performance when well maintained too. For those of us that buy whole beans to grind is looking for the superior cup of coffee. Urnex will only enhance this experience by running the Urnex tablets through your burr grinder every few weeks to a month (depending on how much coffee you make). This will work wonders and give you only the freshest tasting coffee or espresso. Just run your grinder briefly to make sure all beans have been ground. Add the Urnex Grinds cleaner from the single use packet, or from the 430 gm container, about one cap full, 35 – 40g. Grind through the grinder on a medium setting. Then use about two cycles of regular coffee beans to clean out any remaining cleaner. Why buy good coffee to enjoy and not follow all the steps to ensure it is the best cup of coffee possible. Great product, however, in the single use packets there is simply too much powder (broken up and pulverized tablets). The pulverized tablets are ineffective as a cleaner and simply pour through the grinder. I ended up using two packets rather than one. Definitely not cost effective. I would buy the Urnex Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaner, 15.2 oz (430 grams) and measure out the correct amount to clean your grinder. Otherwise, recommended.

I tried these tablets on my Mr. Coffee burr grinder. The cleaning really works! I’ve seen that some people use rice, but read too many horror stories against that method. The Mr. Coffee burr grinder does a great job, but you cannot take it apart far enough to get to the grinding mechanism to clean it. I hadn’t cleaned it in the two years I’ve had it until using these tablets. This was super easy, fast, and thorough. After cleaning all the caked-on, oily gunk I could, I then used the tablets. Boy, was I surprised at all the dirt that was left. Those rancid oils eventually WILL affect your coffee’s taste, and I actually noticed a difference in mine afterward. I’ll do this a couple of times a year, which should be sufficient as I’m the only coffee drinker in the house. IMHO, consistently perfect java is worth this small investment!

Gave these a go as there's an appeal to a purpose made product but having tried them I'll be going back to rice grains as an eaqually effective cleaner. Leave a lot of dusty residue in the grinder and still need to purge and vac the workings of the grinder. To be fair, no claims to negate this.

After accidentally clogging my grinder with espresso grind this cleaned it right out.

I used it to clean my Breville Barista Express grinder and it worked great on it. 👍🏼

3 people were served 2 coffees made identically before and after using one bag of cleaning beans: no difference was noted. Then, the final two bags were run through TWICE and an identical amount of coffee beans and water were made to international standards in the same, though cleaned French press - NO DIFFERENCE!
