The officially licensed reproduction of Arya Stark’s Needle on HBO’s Game of Thrones has a blade of stainless steel, a guard and pommel of antiqued brass and a grip of brown leather. It has been recreated from the show prop. The sword comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a wooden silkscreened wall mount emblazoned with the Direwolf sigil of House Stark. Though Needle is a small and light sword, it is deadly in form - the thin point lends itself well to piercing a gambeson or fitting through and splitting links of chainmail. Long, piercing wounds are not as visually impressive great cuts and slashes, but the internal damage caused by such a blade is very deadly. A foe pierced by even a few inches of such a blade in the torso is highly unlikely to survive. A good sword for Arya Stark; a deceptively deadly blade combined with a deceptively deadly young girl is a fitting combination for the rough land of Westeros and beyond.
