If you're considering it, buy it
I own a ton of knives. But I'd never considered how great the bevel on this would be for woodworking until it was recommended to me. It's a totally different tool. I'm sure there are fancier ones and cheaper ones. I wouldn't bother with either. Just buy this. If you're even looking at this, you'll love it. The blade is great out of the box and holds an edge well. It is so easy to hone freehand because of the huge bevel. I mostly just touch it up after longer sessions with a fine grit or just a strop. I only have had to really sharpen once because of a very abusive mistake against concrete. It is really comfortable in the hand. Like "you don't think about the tool while you use it" comfortable. Just an instant extension of the body. It complements chisels well for finer work and leaves a perfect tool mark free finish. I played with carving green wood and that was a blast. I imagine if you're into whittling or spoons it would be perfect. I've mostly used it on dry hard and soft woods for detail, tight curves, touching up chamfers, etc. It works well with and across the grain. The only downside is that the sheath is plastic. I'll probably replace that at some point, but it works fine and it's not like that was some kind of surprise. The sheath is still well made for what it is. I've never put it on my belt, though. I can't dock it for that. But a nicer sheath will be nice, because I'd like to have it near me whenever I'm working.

One of the best options for a carving knife.
This is a great option for a whittling/carving blade. Mora is always amazing. The knife is well made and performs. It also ticks the box as a traditional styled blade. It's fully carbon steel, so you've got to take care of it, but the blade and the wood handle will slowly patina overtime, turning it into a companion and an heirloom.

So dang sharp, absolutely worth it
Out of the box this knife was out of this world sharp, unlike anything from the kit I started with. I love the overall quality of the knife. There isn't anything else I could ask of it. I've been using it for the past 3 weeks to whittle Christmas presents for my family and it has been a major upgrade. The reason I came back to write this review is due to the fact that I read someone complaining about how dull their knife was and didn't think it was worth it. After having used this knife extensively, I can majorly disagree with that statement and I have the cuts to show for it. This knife is incredibly sharp and will remain sharp if correctly stropped. It's so sharp that the cuts you potentially get on your fingers are SIGNIFICANTLY cleaner than anything else, no joke. Its a weird metric for quality trust me I understand haha.

Mora says it all.
This is a knife with a tang that passes through the handle to keep the blade secure and tight. The blade is 106mm, made of Mora's laminated steel (center of high-carbon very tough steel in a sandwich between 2 milder steel sides) that comes razor-sharp with a pointy tip for carving small features and with the Nordic-style edge that's easy to sharpen. This is a carving knife that COULD also be used for bush-craft, but you'll want to reserve it for fine and critical cutting, and use your OTHER knife for the rough-stuff. The handle is of the traditional oiled Birch and a bit small, but it's compact. I find that wrapping these smaller handles for a better grip makes the knife more useful and gives you better leverage for cutting. A great little knife, made the old-fashioned way, although the sheath is plastic, which holds the knife securely. You can really push the knife into the sheath and it will stay that way until you give it a twist to pull out the knife. Remember: Always cut away, NEVER towards yourself...!

Great knife for wood carving
Bought this knife for woodcarving spoons and it is a very sharp knife that fits the hand well. The size is very nice for two hand carving and blade can be used both in the center of the spine for heavier cuts or near the tip for more delicate work. I did not like the linseed oil handle color so I sanded what I could off and then soaked it a bit in mineral spirits. Tried to stain and Tru oil it but it did not work out. Tru oil would never dry over the linseed oil still in the pores of the wood. Sanded it off again and this time i flamed the handle with my butane torch to give it a dark color. The plastic sheath is better than nothing but I threw it away and made my own. All in all I am quite happy on how it turned out. Handle has two coats of tru oil after flaming and is dry to the touch and not tacky

Really Good Carver
Very nice. Very comfortable in hand, blade very sharp, equally good at removing a lot of material quickly as well as delicate finish cuts. Definitely recommend!

Fits your hand nicely
Handl is perfect for all hand sizes. It comes razor sharp out of the box. Slender blade gets you into those tight places. Great as a n cool knife too. You can use it on a ferro rod. The scandi grind makes it easy to hone with a leather strop and green compound. Overall quality is great. The only issue I have is with my he sheath. I wish it fit better because it’s used on several knife models and doesn’t fit like it should. So now I’m having to make one with wood and leather. Maybe mora could remedy this. It would be worth the extra couple dollars

Muy buen cuchillo
Muy buena herramienta para la talla de madera, es muy cómodo y práctico para detalles. Al ser acero al carbon, necesita una capa de aceite para evitar el óxido.
