Expensive for what they are, but they are worth it to always have some stakes (and hopefully steaks) on hand at all times in your bag without any significant weight penalty. The real reason I went titanium is because I could use these as cross braces through holes in a piece of roof flashing I use as a wind shield for my mini stove, to turn it into a pot stand. These work perfect for that. Then when you are done with that, you can take those 2 stakes and put them back in your tarp.Update 2015-11-24: Used 6 of these on a Kelty 12 tarp under 50mph gust winds this week and they held even during the light rain that muddied the ground. Was seriously impressed they held through the night. Just be sure you put them in at an angle and bang them all the way into the ground. Even after banging them into the ground that seemed to have some rocks under it, they didn't bend. I picked up another set of 6 just to have because of how useful they are and weigh practically nothing. Overall, quite impressed even considering the price.

Love these pegs because they save me several ounces of weight and pack space compared to my other stakes. The thin rods are sturdy and they easily penetrate hard ground or soft. I am pleasantly surprised at how well they hold my Hammock tarp. I also like the orange hook, otherwise these things would disappear on the forest floor. The quality is excellent the shafts are strong and they hold very well even though they are very thin. If you use them properly they should not bend. These pegs are not intended to be pounded or stomped into the ground the way you might with a V stake. The thin shaft allows you to penetrate the ground more easily with light foot or hand pressure.

They’re 6.5 inch, amd I don’t know their exact weight but they’re pretty light. I really prefer the shepherds hook kind because they’re easy to push into the ground. You don’t want to use a hammer or stick to heat them into the ground though because they’ll bend. I jump every it over to the right or left when I encounter resistance like a root or rock in the ground. And they’re plemty long enough for me toe either m tent or tarp.they’re much better than aluminum stakes.

Only recommend when pitching tent in a grassy area. The BIG advantage of these stakes is they are easy to pull out if the ground is moist. These don’t work well if extremely windy. They serve a purpose but have limitations like bending easily. I would recommend the MSR Groundhog stakes in place of these.

I used these along with a few stakes that came with my tent since we were up high during a windstorm. My tent stayed put and didn't budge. These went into the ground easily enough and didn't bend even when I was pretty rough and careless about using my foot to get them in.They are very light and easy to stash in with the tent. I also like the orange color on top, makes them easy to find.

I have some 6000 series aluminum stakes that came with my Hubba Hubba tent. They're more compact. These are marginally lighter and I much prefer the shepherd hook shape to the square rod with a notch in it. They drive better in rocky soil and have more positive retention. Compared to other common stakes, they are much lighter without any sacrifice.

I added this photo for scale... they’re quite thin and small for the heft price... also made in China. Let’s hope they’re as sturdy as they allege. I’ll update with any issues in sturdiness....

I have used these stakes on a lot of hiking trips-- triple crown etc, and found them to be the best that I have owned. They are thick enough to use in hard ground and not bend easily. Having lost ti stakes before in grass and leaves, the orange color really helps in locating them. Should last a lifetime.

I have a number of Ti tent-pegs, but these ones are probably the best for firm ground. The "shepherd crook" end makes sure the guy-rope doesn't slip off.
