I bought this to go in a women's self defense package for a fund-raiser. My sons didn't volunteer to let me try it on them but it did sound really impressive. My little dog hates the sound of stun guns (she has never been zapped by one) and I've heard that most dogs hate the sound. This is certainly loud enough to get dogs' attention. I have no idea how well it works since I had no volunteers and I don't know the longevity since it was for a fund-raiser. But I would order it again.

The media could not be loaded. Extremely potent and effective. I am a big guy 250+ lbs Muscular, Had my wife shock me 3 different times with no shirt on , with a shirt on and lastly with a hoodie on a shirt. It penetrated all 3 times and hurt like hell and disabled me for a good 10-15 minutes with the hoodie on. It's not a toy and I would not recommend using it for fun. I just wanted to test out the potency of the stun gun to make sure it will hold up if faced with any adversity. I ended up ordering 2 more for my wife and her sister. It gives me peace of mind that they have something on them to protect them at all times.

I shocked myself a few times and it works fine.Longer Review:Out of the box, it seemed pretty sturdy and decently made. Same quality of a low-mid price range flashlight you'd get from the hardware store. A few very small flaws like some of the metal components being slightly bent towards one of the spikes. However, its a good fit in the hand. Comes pre-charged and is able to shock at that charge so I guess if someone is trying to attack you right when you open the package you'll be alright.When taking it in and out of the holster, be mindful that the switch wasn't moved from the OFF/SAFE position, as it brushes up right against the side of the holster, providing the directional motion to move the switch.The noise itself is definitely enough to alert others or deter an attacker, as I myself was horrified right before I had a friend shock me with it to ensure its effectiveness. Overall, I believe it's mostly worth the cost and the battery life is in-fact long, however I would continue to see if cheaper options are available.

I purchased this product in 2019 and it lasted all the way up to April/2022. I ended up overcharging it and quit. This product comes with specific instructions so you have to follow them in details so the product will keep it's promise. Only charge it for up to 5 hours, nothing more. To see if it is charged, I usually pressed it against my bed sheets and never in the air because you will damage it that way. Cost efficient, this stun gun is a must!! I'm planning to get another one. It will last trust me! Pls follow the instructions given.

Mixed emotions. It seemed to work ok, although thankfully I never had to use it. I'm giving it a "3" because after 4 years evidently the battery is kaput and there is no way to easily -- if at all -- change the battery. Why not use a standard rechargeable battery? Then we could get X more years out of the thing and cut down on waste.

Did a dry test and it seems very powerful. I believe it will work if I should ever need to use it; but hopefully I'll never have to...Don't dry test for more than maybe a second because it's not good on the device as it says in the instructions. If you should use it on an attacker, however, you can use it for as long as you need to defend yourself without damage to the device. Don't try this on a attacker just to test it out; that would be illegal if your attacker is already subdued and you are able to flee (then YOU would be the criminal). When faced with an attacker, the goal is always to flee and get help; not to necessarily cause harm to your attacker. Remember that.
