The Flypocalypse Has Begun—and I’m Winning
I don’t know what’s in these things—black magic? Fly pheromone seduction spells? Grandma’s secret meatloaf recipe? Whatever it is, it works. I put one refill out, and by the next day, it looked like every fly within a five-mile radius RSVP’d to a death party in my backyard. These refills don’t mess around. You add water, hang it up, and suddenly it’s like running a fly nightclub where the only exit is… permanent. The smell? Horrific. But that’s how you know it’s doing God’s work.I used to swat flies with a rolled-up magazine like a caveman. Now I just smile and let this bag of doom do the dirty work.10/10. Would invite again to my backyard BBQ. The flies, however, are not on the guest list.

It's the best I've found
I have come to reply on the Rescue brand as it has worked the best for me. I've used other brands and their ok. But Rescue just seems better for me. Easy to use. Very economical. They seem to last about a week, maybe longer before the stink settles down. It's the stink that attracts the flies. I appreciate being able to buy a bundled pack of six refills since the jugs are a one time purchase. Wear disposable gloves with emptying the jug to refill with a new bag. Gotta take the bad with the good.

It worked
I decided to purchase a fly trap solution from Amazon, but after reading numerous reviews about the bad smell and the hassle of cleaning for reuse, I ended up creating my own trap instead. Here’s my experience with both the product and my DIY solution.DIY Trap Construction: To make my trap, I cut the top off an apple juice bottle, flipped it upside down, and placed it inside the bottle. I sealed the edges with tape and used a bit of tape around the opening to ensure the hole wasn't too large. This method worked surprisingly well.Effectiveness of the Fly Trap Solution: I used the purchased fly trap solution in my DIY container. While it did catch some flies, I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t attract as many as I expected. However, it performed adequately, and I was relieved to find that the solution didn't smell as bad as other reviewers had mentioned. Conclusion: Overall, I would recommend the fly trap solution for its effectiveness, but I believe you can easily create a container at home that works just as well. Given my experience, I wouldn't suggest spending money on the pre-made traps; a DIY approach is simpler and more effective for my needs.
