How Tea Cosies Changed the World Paperback – June 1, 2013

What an amazing book. I buy teapots from thrift stores and make tea cosies to fit them. Although I consider my self an experienced knitter had a little trouble getting them started, so I cheat and do the first couple of rows of top down patterns in crochet!

This book is incredible. One look and I wanted to be able to have the skills to knit every cosy. Each pattern is a work of art that has your jaw dropping and a sense of awesome immediately comes to mind. To knit any of this books patterns to give as a gift , would be met with gratitude and amazement. And boy, would they feel lucky.

The author of this book is truly an artist. Her designs are fun and a conversation piece to keep your tea warm and your teapot proud, if teapots could have feelings. It is inspirational and shows that possibilities are endless. A nice book with great ideas.Although the book is a paperback, it is of high quality.

Loani Prior has the most inventive imagination! Even if you intend never to own a teapot, her creations are delightful and can be adapted to hats, sculptures, far out pillows or stuffed creatures. Run, don't walk, to marvel at her tea cosies on one of the bookselling websites!

Loani Prior is hands down one of the most creative, forward thinking knitters currently in print. Her instructions are clear, her art references are immaculate. Tea drinking and Non-tea drinking knitters alike should buy tea pots of various sizes so they can indulge in dressing them up and displaying them in prominent places through out their homes.

I don't knit or use tea cosies. However the original desgins and construction are applicable to other knitted items. This book encourages creativity in all areas of knitting. It is a knitting book that could be used by anyone but I would suggest that intermediate knitters would find it more useful.

I love the tea cosies in this book, but find at times I have to read and reread the instructions.Have completed the one on the cover and love it. Also completed another but have no idea how to put it together. Back to trying to work out the instructions again.

If you knit and love tea cosies buy this - or if you do only one of these buy it anyway. Unlike her first two books there are a few patterns for other lovely things but teacosies take centre stage. It's a fun book, and the instructions are easy to follow. The wool she uses is expensive but I used cheaper wool and my tea cosies still changed my world and that of my friends. The pics are fabulous and on a gloomy rainy summer day in June it as good as a box of chocolate and Casablanca on the tv. Well, Almost.

This little book is great fun and informative. I can't wait to get making some fabulous different tea cosies. My friend lent me I another book - really wild tea cosies by the same author, which was the reason I looked for more. I m glad I found this one and it will be well used.

If like me you want some whacky inspiration for knitting projects then this book is a must. Has lots of good patterns with clear instructions

Great fun! The patterns are original and well written, and the Spotted Gourd is beautiful! Great garment for a glamorous Lady Teddy too....Enjoy

Patterns are beautiful but need some advanced knitting techniques. I'm not a fan of knitting on 2 sets of circular needles simultaneously!
