I didn’t buy the Staub Silicone with Wood Handle Cooking Utensil, Risotto Spoon for risotto. I bought it for scrambled eggs, pasta, and soup, and honestly, I have no regrets about ignoring its job description. For scrambled eggs, this thing is quietly elite. The pointed edge gets into every curve of the pan to unstick eggs with precision, and the center hole is weirdly brilliant. It moves the eggs just enough to keep them light, fluffy, and not overworked. It’s like controlled chaos, but for breakfast. No aggressive stirring, no rubbery outcomes. Just eggs that behave. It also pulls its weight with boiling potatoes, pasta, and soups, especially in stainless steel pots and pans. The silicone is gentle (no dramatic scraping sounds), but quite sturdy enough to actually move food around like you mean it. This replaced a well loved wooden version that lasted me years. One of those “we’ve been through a lot together” kitchen tools. When it finally broke, I didn’t expect to find a replacement that felt like an upgrade, but here we are. Same comfort, better durability, and way more range. Simple, functional, and unexpectedly overqualified for scrambled eggs. Turns out the best egg spoon… thinks it’s a risotto spoon.

Works good and the rice does not stick to this spoon like a regular spoon. The handle feels strong and does not flex like the plastic spoons that comes with the rice cooker.
