The only orchid soil I will ever use.
I love this orchid soil. This is my second time purchasing. Finally my flowers have been able to survive, and even thrive. I have had many orchids over the years. None have survived until I started using this soil. It is easy to use. It does not cause large messes. Its easy to clean up and I can use it safely in my classroom. I notice a lot more blooms on my plants and they grow a lot faster. In the class they grow longer and maintain beautiful color.

This is my go to, purchased it multiple times!!
Love this stuff! I use it in my potting mix for all of my plants, good drainage and all of my plants are happy and healthy! Resealable which is amazing for functionality! Easy to work with! It is really chunky so if you’re looking for finer bark I wouldn’t go with this one.

Divine
Five Stars – The Rolls-Royce of Orchid Mixes!Simply marvellous! Better-Gro Special Orchid Mix has turned my temperamental orchids into blooming divas. The bark blend is top-tier—chunky enough for splendid airflow, yet perfectly absorbent to avoid any diva roots throwing a tantrum.Repotting was a breeze, and within weeks I saw a noticeable perk-up in my Phalaenopsis and Cattleyas. It drains faster than British sarcasm at an American dinner party, and the resealable bag is a stroke of logistical genius. Honestly, if I could give it six stars and a standing ovation, I would.Positively perfect. A must-have for any self-respecting orchid parent.

Potting soil is great for orchids
I bought this orchid potting mix for my two beautiful orchids. Orchids have special needs when it comes to potting. After purchasing my orchids I brought them home and let them rest a few days to get used to the climate in our house. I purchased special plastic pots with holes and this potting soil. I removed the orchids from the store and replanted them into this potting soil. My orchids seemed very happy and grew beautifully. Their blooms were beautiful. The blooms lasted way past the season. I was careful to follow the recommended watering schedule and I have had excellent results with this potting soil.

Great Orchid Mix and So Much More!
This orchid mix is fantastic! The blend of bark, charcoal, and sponge rock keeps my orchids’ roots healthy with excellent drainage and airflow. I also mix it with FarmFox soil and perlite for my other plants, and it works really well to improve soil texture and drainage. My plants are thriving, and I highly recommend this for orchids and beyond!

Could Be Better
While this orchid soil has a decent mix of materials for orchids, it has pretty large chunks. It doesn't seem to be made for plants that are medium size or less. The little amount of soil that can fit in a 5 inch liner is concerning. While using this soil, I noticed my plant's roots and this new soil were having a difficult time fitting into their larger 5 inch container. This soil's wood and charcoal needs to be smaller in the size. It stressed out my 2 orchids over a period of 3.5 weeks. All my orchids (roots and leaves) were in top shape before using this orchid soil. Now both have a lot of brown/black roots. See before and after photos. One is seemingly coming back, but the other isn't doing as good. The only one that seems to be okay after using this soil is the one in which I didn't remove the old soil from it's larger container. I just added this new soil to the wood planter. I think it could be a decent orchid soil if the chunks weren't so darn large. Bigger orchids may not experience any issues, but medium size or smaller orchids may be in for a rough adjustment. Time will tell if all will get back to the way they were before adding this soil.
