Price too good to be true. The listing shows images and pockets depicting ice packs that offer full coverage of the hat, but that is not the case. The ice packs are too small and do not cover the length of the cap. The listing also shows two lengthwise replacement ice packs (that one would assume is for the forehead and back of head pockets in the cap). The “replacement” packs are misleading because those packs don’t come with the ice cap! I did not purchase the replacement packs bc I’m not pleased with how quickly the included gel ice packs defrost and loose their coldness. The cap is a thicker material, but is a nice loose fit w/ Velcro to tighten. Overall I am disappointed with the lack of “freeze” in the ice packs and how quickly it lost even feeling cool. Also, the product description is misleading as the ice packs are much smaller and do not fit the length or width of the ice pack “pockets” or as shown on the listing. Lastly, the “replacement packets are not replacements as the item does not ship with those type of ice packs or any ice pack that go horizontally across the front, back, or sides.

There are no instructions. Put in refrigerator, not freezer. If you put in the freezer, it is no longer pliable and won't conform to your head.

As someone who experiences headaches and hot flashes I thought this would be a great solution. It could be if I could figure out how to freeze the little ice packs that come with it to conform to my head! Unless you have a mannequin head in your freezer to mold it to, I'm not sure how you can freeze these to make them comfortable to place inside so that it doesn't feel like you have 4-6 slabs of ice jamming into your head! LOL If I figure it out I will update my review!

INITIAL REVIEW: I rarely write reviews, but this product is simply amazing so I had to pay it forward. Migraine and tension headache medicine no longer work for me because I used to take it so frequently. Let me tell you, this helps! Freeze for one hour or refrigerate overnight. If you keep it in the freezer overnight it’s ok, it will just be super cold and stay colder longer. An easy fix is letting it sit on the counter for a few minutes to let it warm up a little or just use it as is. Either way the ice packs are soft and work very well. You can even pull it over your eyes if you have eye pain from a migraine. I hope this helps someone the same way that this product and other reviews help me!—UPDATE AFTER 1 MONTH—I purchased this product twice so I could have an extra set of ice packs to put in rotation. I was sooo happy when I first purchased these, but now after only 1 month I am disappointed because I only have half of the ice packs that I purchased left. The concept of the hat and the flexibility of the ice packs are genius. But the gel packs will eventually burst at the seams and leak gel everywhere. It’s so unfortunate that the durability of the ice packs aren’t stronger because it works so well...until it doesn’t. I will not continue to purchase this…unless a more durable ice pack becomes available. I guess I have to search for another brand and style. Sigh.

My daughter gets eczema on her scalp and this helps to cool her head when it flares up. Great Price.

I wear this for so many reasons like headache, fever, or just feeling hot in the summer. It’s very comfortable and I’m considering getting a second one so that I can have the cooling effect on my head for double the time. Personally I like to put mine in the fridge, if I put it in the freezer it’s too cold for my head. Honestly I think everyone needs one of these!

I have had this helmet for over a year. This helmet has been one of the best and most helpful purchases I’ve ever made. Nothing works on my headaches but cold. I always wished that I could have ice surrounding my entire head when I have one. This does the trick. The individual pieces are hard as a rock when they come out of the freezer, so they don’t lay flat against the head for a while, but that’s to be expected of anything frozen! The cap is a little long in the front and the ice pack doesn’t go all the way to the edge on that side but I just fold the front up. It stays on my head while I lay down. The only drawback for me is that it’s the only relief I get and after wearing it for a few hours, the ice packs, of course, thaw out and need to be refrozen. In the mean time, my headache rears it’s ugly head. But this helmet is so helpful for me that I’m buying another so I can always have ice packs available for use. Totally worth it. The only other thing I would recommend is *not* being lazy and throwing the whole cap in the freezer with the ice packs... the cap will end up smelling bad (like the freezer) and that is the opposite of helpful when you have a headache that makes you sensitive to smells. Purely my own doing and entirely faultless on the part of the manufacturers of the helmet. If you’re wondering if you should get this or if it will help you, the answer is yes.
