Metta, Benevolence BBC6 Live: on the invitation of Mary Anne Hobbs

Live Sunn at its best, beautiful organic drones to get lost in, lovely gatefold cover. word of warning Amazon despatched the record just in shrink wrap with an address label stuck on it, with no outer protective packaging. Though this is awesome for the environment and improvement on past Amazon deliveries with giant boxes for a single pack of strings, it did cause the record to have a few dents to the sleeve, thankfully the records were fine (but that was more chance) but in terms of the sleeve not so great for the obsessive collector types!

Very noisy pressing. Wish I'd paid attention to other vinyl reviews and opted for the CD version instead. if you want the vinyl for completeness of your collection, wait for it to be in the bargain bins because you'll be disappointed paying full price for this. Also, unlike other Sunn O))) releases, this is not pressed on heavy vinyl: the discs are very flimsy - the sort of vinyl you expect a 12 inch single to be released on.

Usually sunn vinyl records are well pressed, this isn't one of them. The first album received had records that were both warped with a crackle in the right channel on all sides. The replacement album had flat records but the crackle in the right channel is also there. I have a well set up timetable and gave the record a good clean , but no luck. I can only assume there's an issue with the stamper used to press the record. A real shame as I love the music but for the prie of the record this is unacceptable. Sent both copies back.

This is the third copy of this album I've tried and all three had loud right channel crackle that ruins the listening experience. Will be returning. This is a great record though, easily as good as Life Metal and Pyroclasts. Shame the vinyl is not up to usual standards.

Amazing quality record after being cleaned, it's already one of my favorite Sunn releases, but the vinyl version might make it my favorite because of the quality.
