3 Replacement Carbon Filters for Hamilton Beach True Air Odors

These replacement filters are not what is pictured in the product listing. Rather than two pieces of filter sealed at the edges with carbon sandwiched in between (as shown in the listing), these are thin single-layer pieces of fabric. Not unlike a Brillo pad. You can see through them when holding them up to the light and they don't seem to contain any carbon. When contacting the seller they defended themselves saying "The listing clearly states these are an aftermarket product" as though that's an excuse for not matching the photo or the description. Granted, I've not yet used them so I can't speak for whether or not they filter the air. I just know I don't like receiving something different than what I was sold, and then being told I'm in the wrong.

I agree with all these one star reviews. These are basically a Scotch Brite pad (a thin one) with a white liner. They are two thin layers with no plastic frame between and no activated carbon between them. And yes, they are notched on the wrong corner forcing you to install them backwards unless you cut your own notch in the opposite corner. I'm not sure whether this affects the performance, but I can't imagine these being effective when you look at them compared to every other filter I've ever used in my True Air. I could have gotten the genuine Hamilton Beach filters for four dollars more. That's exactly what I'll do from now on. I can't tell you yet whether they do anything at all but they look like they'll be about as effective as a screen door.

I normally buy Hamilton Beach carbon filters and they work great. Well, these so called "filters" are paper thin and when you hold them up to a light you can see thru them. Not good at all. I had to turn around and order what really should go in the unit and now I see why they are either $18.99 or $22 dollars. No carbon, paper thin and barely fit in the unit. My fault for ordering but these could be made a little differently. I really don't know how people are leaving reviews saying how great they are because there not.

I didn't bother reading the reviews because who reads reviews for a carbon filter? What could they mess up, right?Ugh. The three of these filters are the same thickness combined as the one they're replacing. Also they put the notch in the wrong corner, so you have to install it backwards. Awful product and a ripoff.

These filters is nothing like the original that came with my Hamilton Beach Odor remover. they are very thin, and they seem inside out, because on the original the black side go to the outside of the filter casing according to the cut, but you have to put the black part to the inside of outside casing. Do they work? I really don't know.. The original worked. but with this, I'm really just using my odor remover for the night light, because I place it next to my dog play pen and I still smell it.. unlike when I had original..

Not a carbon filter, did not receive what was pictured, they were nothing like what it was supposed to replace, frankly I could have cut these out myself at home out of thick felt. The light color on them in the picture is actually the counter showing thru them.

Very poorly made ('made' is a little bit exaggerated. It's just a piece of material) and arrived very late. Returned immediately.Amazon should warn the buyer be aware.

Won't buy again. Not as high quality as original non generic brand named filter. Rather spend a bit more to get the real thing. These are flimsy and ill fitting

The reviews that said it was a black scotch brite pad that is. It was a thin black pad that was cut (roughly) I might add) into the shape for the cleaner.
