Economical repair
My husband wanted this to repair our garage door opener. He checked it, got the model number, and determined this was what was needed. Had no trouble installing it and it works perfectly. No need to buy a new opener! I have to say my husband is retired HVAC and he can fix just about anything.

If your capacitor burns up...
I saw two reviews that said they didn't last. Any capacitor that is physically destroyed did so because the motor is struggling and overheating the capacitor. If you do not address the motor over current issue the replacement capacitor will fail quickly. This is common on screw and chain drives. Cleaning and lubing (or at least lubing) the screw drive rod or chain from end-to-end may be all that is needed. Any type of grease will work better than nothing; white lithium is best. In some cases it is because one or both lift springs are spun or broken. You can detach most doors from the drive by pulling on a cable where the carriage engages the drive mechanism and lifting the door manually and it should lift easily. Belt drives are typically a spring issue but in any case the motor or complete opener may need to be replaced if the above is not effective.

DO NOT BUY
0 stars. This capacitor literally blew up after 1 day of I stalling! I've never seen one do this. Not a quality product.

Not worth it, and not recommend this item.
It doesnโt last a week. Exact part number and expect specification but not lasting a week. Donโt waste your money!
