Works with Pinecil
Purchased this to pair with the Pinecil soldering iron and fits fine. It’s lightweight and doesn’t need any assembly. It comes with a brass sponge that cleans the soldering tips just fine. If you’re looking for a soldering iron holder for a great price—look no further. Quality and functionality for a great price.

Good Quality & value, Heavy duty, works for Pinecil Soldering Iron
Fits Pine64 Pinecil soldering iron. I agree with other posters, this is an outstanding value, heavy gauge stand. I was able to tighten and twist in the top so that there is no wobble. I put the slit side of the metal shaft downwards. I notice some people have the slit part of the metal shaft at the top. photos from the manufacturer also show the metal shaft with the slit opening at the bottom closer to where the very end of the tip would be. Not sure how long the upper thick plastic part will last, but just having the heavy duty metal base is worth it, even if I have to make a new upper part. I might coat the upper round part with high temp silicone which will help it last longer. To help the upper plastic part last longer I plan to coat it. Automotive stores sell a super high temperature silicone for engine gaskets that is black color. I think if I coat whole upper part, it will cushion the constant entry of the iron and also help the whole top connector to last longer.

Works okay, not perfect
This is juuuust about what I was looking for, and good enough I likely won't bother replacing it. The weight is good so it's not going to fall over, I may mount some magnets on the bottom for when I'm soldering somewhere with a metal surface close at hand. The little cleaning dealy is fine, better than a damp sponge. The only gripe I have is the opening for the iron is plastic, and like virtually all of these things with an iron sitting in it the tip is touching metal, which transfers heat out of your tip. This both lowers the temp of your iron if it's not overly burly and with a powerful iron it can heat the whole holder body itself up quite a bit in a fairly short amount of time. I haven't found anything better, but it's better than the chintzy lightweight wound coil holders I think.

Great size
This holder is a great size. It's got a pretty small footprint and is very sturdy. When I put the soldering iron in, it feels very secure. The one thing worth mentioning is that when you do put the soldering iron in if it kind of sits all the way and the tip of the side and iron comes up and touches the metal backing on the inside. My worry is that then heat from a soldering iron will be transferred to the back plate which could be cooling down your soldering iron. I don't know if it would do damage to the back plate. I just make sure that when I put the soldering iron in I don't go all the way in so that the tip does not touch the back plate

Wish I'd gotten this years ago
PROS: metal, hefty, solid, correctly sized. CONS: I didn't get it years ago and have been using a crappy plastic thing instead. Not much to say, really - it's hefty enough to stay where you put it and does its job well.

Very valuable when soldering. A must have!
Skip the tiny included stand Its sturdy Surprised at the weight Makes keeping solding tip clean very easy Holds a hakko style (radio shack) iron decently, it's still a bit loose but definitely in place 7/10 (mine is qming soldering iron) If your soldering iron didn't come with a stand. Get this for the price you will understand its value very quickly if you ever have used the cheap included stand with an iron. Haha
