Q: Can the side panels of the tank be switched ?

Yes, but the mesh panel will need to go with the smaller glass panel.

Q: How do you put the side glass on? I must have missing items, who do I call to help?

They just hold together its kind of tricky, but once you get it and it helps to have a second pair of hands. Just follow steps and watch YouTube video if you still haven't see how it slides together.

Q: is anyone else having trouble keeping this tank heated? Advice?

Since heat is known to rise, and my beardie loves to hide in his cave. I currently keep one side warm and one side cool so it doesn’t get too hot. If your struggling I would suggest getting a repti heating pad that goes under your tank on one side, so you know your scaly baby is staying warm but also having a cool side
