This item works in a 45° pipeline?

the item will have to be in a straight up and down position and not at a angle the item will have to cleaned from hair about once a week,, its a 2 minute process.. i not sure why you would want it a 45 degree angle if that's what you are asking

Will it prevent flooding due to drainage backflow because of rain?

If you glue it down with the glue they send you around the seal you cut out for your whole size it should prevent a back flow. The valve crews in and out for cleaning and closes up when not in use. So that should work. I recommend contacting the manufacturer for a confirmation but I believe it should work by the way its made
