Q: Does the cooling gel encompass the whole headgear or is it only concentrated in specific areas? Is there any cooling benefit around the ears?

The cooling gel is throughout the entire Headache Relief Cap. There is no specific benefit to cooling your ears, most of our customers do not find that their ears get too cold while using the cap. If you do find that happening, you can move the cap up more on your forehead so that your ears are not covered completely.

Q: Is there two pieces to this? It looks to have pads for eye compression.

It certainly appears from looking at the product images that they include a bonus sleep mask that goes over the eyes with the purchase of any two-pack, which I first thought was to put over the eyes under the mask to keep your eyeballs from freezing or burning, if it was too intense around the eyes, but I've never done one of these over-the-head cold packs. Using it as a sleep mask will also be awesome though.

Q: How do you heat this up? How long does it stay heated?

It says on the directions you can heat it up, make sure it’s at room temperature before you put in the microwave, and then microwave for 10 seconds. If it’s not hot enough to your liking then add 5 seconds and do increments of that until it is

Q: It works great but there is such a potent, noxious odor. How do I get rid of that since I can’t wash it?

I noticed the odor too. I washed it with a damp cloth as recommended and let it air out. I may need to do this a few more times as the odor is very strong.

Helps with migraines

Do not put it in the freezer, it is too cold and feels uncomfortable. Rather keep it in the refrigerator, as you can immediately wear it when you feel a headache coming on.
