Great sugar-free substitute for regular chocolate chips
Since embarking upon a low carb, sugar-free diet about two years ago, I have been on a quest to replace my favorite sugary treats with substitutes that do not deprive me from tasty goodness even though they are healthier versions. Foremost among the items that I felt I could not do without was chocolate. My absolute favorite chocolate treat has to be chocolate chip cookies. I have some great ways to create sugar free chocolate candy that tastes like the real thing. I have used these same methods to make my own chocolate chips. These do taste great but the time and effort involved make baking chocolate chips cookies a grind. And who wants to slave all day just for a cookie? One day I hit upon the plan of buying these Lakanto chocolate bars with the idea of chopping them up into chunks to use as chocolate chips. I made my first batch of cookies with this method this past weekend. Comparing the 5 minutes it took to chop the bar with the 2 hours and big mess involved when making my own chips, this version was a winner. One 3 oz bar made a heaping 1/2 cup which was perfect for my batch of almond & coconut flour cookies. And the taste! Oh people, you cannot tell the difference between these chunks and Hershey's sugar-laden chips. This is my new go-to product for chocolate chips! I have tried Lilly's stevia sweetened chips and could not taste any sweetness in them at all. These, on the other hand, are the perfect amount of chocolatey sweetness without any aftertaste undertones. I highly recommend this for sugar-free chocolate baking.

Delicious!
The dark chocolate bars are too good! I have to limit myself on them for they are pricey. They are a great chocolate bar that is sugar free. Monk fruit sweetener is in my opinion the best of the sugar free sweeteners. Some dark chocolates can cause gas but not this one for me. In the hot weather they have to be mailed with ice packs. The texture and flavor of this dark chocolate bar is not negatively impacted by the cold. The one with nuts does change. The cold changes the texture and the flavor. I will only order the plain dark chocolate ones and add my own nuts as I eat them. I use other Lakanto products also. Check them out at Lakanto.com. You can sign up for emails and texts and know when they have a sale!

Do not ship in hot weather! Can melt and solidify changing the flavor with a dusty coating.
We've been buying these bars for a few years and love them. Made with monk Fruit instead of cane sugar or other unhealthy ingredients.I have an ongoing order (every 3 months? or less) but this time it came in the midst of hot weather. One bar was disgfigured and had melted and hardened and coated with a powdery substance. . The remaining bars were somewhat lightened in color and flavor. I'm too busy to bother returning the entire box and we can get by with these. However we will not order any more until the hot weather is over.

Bar was old and stale! NOT worth the cost.
Loved that this bar got to me within a week of my ordering it. HATED that the bar I got was OLD and crumpled into a box. A broken bar doesn’t effect taste at all, but if I’m paying $10 for one, the least it could do is come in one piece. Taste was stale, but like I said, the bar I got was old. Discolored surface and dry. If you’ve ever eaten a piece of expired chocolate, you know the taste I’m referring to.Overall, very disappointing.I’m just glad I started with the single bar instead of the packs. Will not be ordering again.

Texture
Personally not a fan of the texture. The taste was fine though. They are good if you are using them for something else like baking, etc.

Taste great!
I purchased this for my wife. She gave me one bar to see what I thought having taste Monk fruit or whatever it’s called other foods I wasn’t too interested but once I tasted the first piece, I was told is taste just like some other expensive dark chocolate syrup, eaten before I’m a believer

Habit Forming
This chocolate is too good to pass up. One can enjoy their chocolate cravings guilt free. It is a perfect snack to enjoy, especially if one is watching their blood sugar. It is made for type one and two diabetics.

There are better options
This chocolate bar isn't bad, but it's not great either. I'd hardly say it's "good". The chocolate feels very light, a little airy, there's little to no almond taste or feel. The almonds themselves are small enough to try and mask the inconsistencies of the chocolate. The chocolate feels gritty and doesn't melt properly in your mouth. You have to chew to get it started and then it just feels like you're eating little bits of almonds and a sugary substitute. The flavor is unbalanced. For 55% dark cacao, I expected more of a bitter, rich, chocolate experience, but it's mild and the only flavor that really lingers isn't the chocolate, it's the sweetener. However, I'm not hit with any notes of sugar alcohol, and there's no syrupy coating in my mouth afterward. It's a clean mouthfeel afterward. Try if you'd like, but start with 1 bar before you decide to get more.In the picture provided, is the bar I received. The bar is well within it's date, and the residue is likely either bloom (doubt it) or some kind of residue from the sugar substitute. It wipes off cleanly. Don't be deceived by the speckles of almond on the bottom. I assure you, they look chunky until you take a bite.In my initial testing, I compared this to a similarly priced bar: Lily's Salted Almond Milk Chocolate Bar.I can sincerely say, that at 40% Cocoa, Lily's managed a much more definitive chocolate experience. The chocolate is rich, it melts in your mouth, there's a bit of salt to round out the flavor, and you can taste and feel the almonds. Even though the carb count is higher for Lily's, you'll feel more satisfied in one serving of Lily's than one serving of Lakanto because it feels like real chocolate.TLDR; The Lakanto chocolate bar feels like someone pulsed the almonds a little too long, threw some imitation cocoa powder and a sugar substitute into a bowl and combined with water. Flavor is lacking. Mouthfeel is lacking. Doesn't satisfy the chocolate craving. There are better options.
