Superb!
Durable, accurate/well balanced and an unrivaled attack power. I hit a 10” camping spike from 20’ and made a 1/4” deep gash on it. The blade was totally unaffected! Amazing spear from a solid company is just a no-brainer. This thing deserves 6 stars IMO

It's weight and balance makes it relatively easy to learn to throw and throw accurately
I bought this spear to compliment Cold Steel's long shaft Assegai. I use the Assegai spear more for relatively up close work and short throws. The Sambub Spear is truly designed to be thrown. It's weight and balance makes it relatively easy to learn to throw and throw accurately. Both end pieces are made of steel and these parts are joined with a hardwood, tapered handle. To assemble take either the front or back end and slide the tapered handle into the tapered "cone" on the part you selected. Make sure that the handle is pushed into the socket as far as it will go.Find the hole in the metal socket. At this point you can do one of three things.1. Mark the hole in the handle, remove the handle and use a drill press or hand drill to make the hole. NOTICE***I recommend that you remove the handle before drilling. The drill bit should be one (1) size smaller than the drill bit that fits into the screwhole on the funnel. Drill the hole about 3/4 the length of the screw. Repeat on the other end. This is the procedure that I recommend.2. With the handle inserted in the cone, drill an approximate sized hole in the shaft being careful to only drill the hole about 3/4 the length of the screw. Repeat on the other end.3. With the handle in the cone, take your screw and screwdriver and "force" the screw into the screw hole, breaking the surface fibers of the wood. Continue screwing until the screw is flush with the metal cone. Repeat on other end. When you first go to throw this spear you will notice that the handle is a little "slick" which could interfere with your throw. I recommend that you go to the hardware store and buy a can of "textured" spray paint. Pick a color(s) that will compliment the area where you intend to hunt. You can also paint the metal parts of the spear, just go lightly so you don't throw off the balance of the spear.Let's talk about the quality of the spear. The spear is 1055 carbon steel. When I took the cover off and inspected the spearhead it was definitely sharp. If you don't treat this with respect it might just bite you. Although pretty sharp I recommend that you sharpen the spearhead to the finest edge that you are capable of doing. Animal hides are resilient and if you don't have a sharp spearhead the spear may not go into the animal deeply enough to cause critical damage. The opposite end, "The Butt End" is also made of 1055 carbon steel. It comes to a fine point. You can use the butt end for practice, saving the actual blade for hunting and/or competition. There is also a short piece of heavy plastic tubing on the butt end to protect the tip and to minimize damage to floors, carpets, etc. When everything else fails (running out of ammo) this spear will always be locked & loaded and ready to put some game in the freezer, but only after practicing to build your skill set. You can find a lot of articles and clips on the 'Net to help you leard how to throw this spear.Good Luck to you. I hope my review helped you!

I use it as a curtain rod in my African theme room. Looks pretty neat. I guess you could throw it but I've never tried.
