I love the color, the size, and the weight of the spread, it works perfect for my bedroom. It’s like a comfy quilt my grandmother would’ve made.

This is a well made, beautiful quilt. I love it. I did hesitate at the cost because there were a lot more options at a lesser price but not for the quality this provides. It will last for years, if not generations.The cotton fabric is thick enough that you knows its not cheap but the overall thickness of the quilt makes it great for year round use with layered blankets for additional warmth in the winter.We have a Cal King bed, which I was also skeptical that it would fit properly, but the design lines up perfectly with the edges of the bed and the length hangs long enough to cover the depth of the mattress plus about 6 inches, perfect that it doesn't touch the ground and you could still use a bed skirt if you want.Overall, a beautiful, quality, well made quilt and I'm not disappointed by price now as I think it's a great investment for a long lasting quilt.

I'm pleased with this purchase but there are a couple of points that keep me from giving it a full 5 star endorsement. The pros: 1) It's lovely -- a balanced and attractive combination of patterns and colors. 2) It is actually a patchwork of different fabrics and not just printed on one piece of fabric.3) It's generously sized and beautifully covers my high-top pillow mattress. 4) It did not shrink when laundered.The cons: 1) As other reviewers have reported, there is a "funky" sort of chemical odor to the quilt and shams and the fabric felt quite stiff. I had to launder it before use. There is still a slight residual odor, even after washing, but it's slight and no long a problem. 2) Also as other reviewers have stated, it does fade. I was very careful to wash in cold water, but the colors did fade somewhat. To be fair, that isn't a big problem to me -- I actually prefer the slightly faded "patina" -- makes it look truly vintage. It does not look too washed-out and the fabric softened after washing. Time will tell how much, if any, further fading occurs, but as it stands now, I'm still pleased with it.UPDATE: After about six months and several washings, I have had to retire this coverlet -- it did fade too much for my liking.

I had been looking for quite a while to find a quilt that looked old-fashioned and with the right color combinations. This one appeared to have the appearance I was looking for and most of the reviews were favorable. I took a chance and ordered it, although I would have preferred to see and touch the quilt in an actual store in advance of purchase. The colors proved perfect, the size was generous and the quality seems excellent. When I unpacked the quilt it had an unfavorable "chemical" scent so I knew I would wash it before using it. Taking that step meant I would not be able to return the quilt but I took the chance by setting the washer at cold and low spin. The result was a fresh scent and in every other way a quilt that was just as pleasing as when I first received it. I am very satisfied and hopefully the quilt will serve well into the future. I did not find the quilt "light weight" but it is an appropriate weight for a quilt.

Nice weight and feel. Already washed two times and it washed well. Colors look a more vivid in the picture. In person they are lighter/softer.
