Fun stories
Very nice to read these older stories and hope they keep issuing archival material in an affordable format like this. It could only be better if they included all the silly ads as well. Great entertainment!

Mixed Bag
Entertaining read overall, but a tad repetitive. First 3 stories are especially repetitive as cap is more or less in a similar situation for each plot. It does get going however when the book turns to Captain America's ww2 stories, with the origin of CA and the red skull as stand outs. It does keep improving tho with the final stories involving "the sleepers" being a particlular stand out. Great art through out. It's still a worthy addition to buy at a decent price but I'd recommend skipping the first 3 issues, or just read one and move straight to issue 4.

Excellent stories and you can’t go wrong with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Very fun, very campy!
The other review on here tells you all the important stuff, I'm just here to tell you that these stories are incredibly wild. They're dated in certain ways, such as the way it looks at the Vietnamese and others, but the art and tone are very fun. If you can get past some very 'of the times' bigotry, you can definitely enjoy these extremely fast paced action romps! Each story is roughly 12-16 pages or so, with some longer, 'full issue' lengthed adventures creeping in and due to that, Cap is basically getting into a fight every couple of pages. Guy can't catch a break even for a single second! As one might expect, as well, you can see a lot of the seeds and beginnings of Cap's modern character here, too, alongside the start of his own rogues gallery and little 'world' within the Marvel Universe.
