The Kingstone Bible Trilogy Review: Wonderful rendering of the Bible as Graphic novel - I'm a retired teacher who often used classic novel graphic novels for reluctant readers. I was actually looking for ECs graphic novel renderings of Bible stories to include in my graphic novel collection. While EC has not done reprints of their Classic Novels as they have done with their horror comics, I did find this 3 volume collection of the Bible as a graphic novel. Wow! This edition of the Bible is amazing. Drawn by artists from Marvel and DC comics, this collection is highly detailed, referenced to the written word, lavishly drawn and colored. I recommend this for anyone who has trouble with just reading straight through the Bible. Especially recommended for teens, it could help even adults get the Bible stories in great detail. Read this graphic novel with your own Bible. The only thing I would say is a minus is that it is a KJV Bible and misses those books in the Catholic Bible, but that's my only complaint, and not a biggie. Worth the investment. Review: Loved it — ended up giving two away! - Really enjoyed this Bible trilogy. The artwork is awesome and it tells the stories in such an easy and engaging way. I bought three copies — kept one for myself and gave the other two as gifts. Both people loved them too. Great way to get into the Word visually and makes a perfect gift for friends or family.

Great books, review that said it was missing day 7 He rested is worng, It is on bottom left page 12.
These are gorgeous books. They are not scripture, but a paraphrase. That is how you need to think of it. It is a great introduction to the Bible for children. To those who think it is NOT for children due to violence my question is, "have you ever read the Bible"? We should not take a puritanical view of God's Word. He shows the human condition and violence, sex is part of that. I never worried about shielding my child from God's Word. It is a great opportunity to talk with your child about what we see as good, mural behavior.

The Graphic Novel Adaptation of the Greatest Story Ever Told
I've ordered this and will receive it tomorrow as of this writing, so I haven't had hands on this product yet, but the reason why I'm writing this review now is because I wanna give my rational for ordering it. I was born and raised Catholic, and as the old joke by a comedian in the 80s who I can't remember exactly who it was let alone their name, that "yes, I'm Catholic, I don't read the Bible, I just show up every Sunday for a 45 minute Book Report." (I don't even do that anymore as I'm leaning more towards the Ancient Alien Theology at the moment, as I believe that many "Divine" moments in the Bible can be explained thru UFO encounters.) But anyway, I bought this because one of the reasons why people in general don't read the Bible is because it's written in an almost Riddle form that is widely open to different interpretations. I mean I read a Bible passage that's cryptic, and I ask, "what the hell does that mean?" (No pun intended.) People just don't talk like that now in everyday life. So what I hope this graphic novelization version of the Bible will do for me at least (I'm almost 46) is to finally give me a sense of what the Bible has been saying all along with the help of pictures to put these passages in better [visual] context. Who knows, I may become reunited with my childhood faith after I read this set. But I will say this, I'm a History Major, not a Scientist, and I believe that yes, the Bible is probably a good history book (to some extent) but it's not a science book at all, especially when it comes to the Book of Genesis. This idea that the Earth may only be a few thousand years old going by the vague timeline in which humans were put here and so forth from the time the Earth was created just doesn't hold up to the actual geological records of rock strata. I've rated this review at 3 stars for the moment as a Neutral rating. When I get the set and start reading/looking thru them, I'll update this review as I see fit. UPDATE (12-18-24): Yes, I've had the set for over 5 years now, but admit that I've only read up thru most of the Book of Job, but what I mentioned above about being able to understand the with the help of the Comic Book-style illustrations is True. When you get that visual interpretation of the almost cryptic scripts of the Bible then it's so much easier to understand what's being said by whom and to whom.

Worth every penny
This is an extremely enjoyable way to experience the bible. It is put together in chronological order which makes the whole story flow easily, the art work is top level professional and each story and section has different art styles from different artists which keeps things fresh. They absolutely did not skip on quality in anyway. I'm not very religious but I wanted to understand the bible better and this was a perfect way to do it. The timelines that tie the stories within the framework of historical events and time periods they put in the beginning with the table of contents is really helpful. One of the coolest things I've bought this year.

Amazing books, they were for a present and the recipient is delighted. I actually asked to borrow 1 at the time to read myself, they are beautifully presented, well narrated, they are very descriptif and you will see a reference to bible ex "Genesis 22-10" onbottom of pages to compare. I believe they have done a brilliant job, amazing illustrations as well and the quality is fab. I totally recommend.

As an employee of the Anglican Church I am navigating several spiritual paths at once. My main responsibility is for children and youth so in preparing for their classes this visual stimulation infuses my teaching and their learning. Additionally as I pursue my own religious education this visual treasure house of images stimulates the narratives and boosts my memory as my knowledge retrieval now has a visual dimension.
