I'm the biggest fan!!
I've been using this iron since I took it out of the box. I am a big Oliso iron fan. I use it for quilting and crafting. It has a special lifting system that pivots the iron off fabric and begins cool down when not in use. My last Oliso was purchased more than 5 years ago. Since I have to iron every seam it gets a lot of use and abuse. One time I tried another brand and it barely lasted a year.

BEST IRON FOR SEWING
I sew bags, purses, and clothes. A dependable hot steam iron is an absolute necessity. For my last iron, I had a great little cordless iron. Only problem is it wouldn't get or stay quite hot enough, even though it had plenty of steam. My new Oliso in sunny yellow (yay!) gets REALLY hot. Hot enough to use on 100% cotton and actually get all the wrinkles out. It also has plenty of steam. I have noticed that it steams better when I keep the water filled close to the maximum level marked conveniently on the iron, so I keep it pretty full. I like the little filling cup it came with. I keep a gallon jug of tap water in my sewing room and pour it into the filling cup, which makes it super easy to get it into the iron with no spills. I live where the water is fairly hard, but tap water works great in this iron. I have occasionally seen it "spit" out little tiny pieces of what I assume is calcium from the hard water, but that is rare, and easily brushed off. Most irons I've ever owned have done this. One very good thing is that it NEVER leaks. I was lucky to get it at 20% off during Amazon days, but I would have bought it at full price if I had to. It works really well and I am glad I have it. Oh - almost forgot the best feature! I LOVE how it goes up and down at just a touch of my hand! If I'm ironing and have to stop, I can just let go of it and it rises up off of the fabric. No scorching, ever! And talk about convenience! When I take it off whatever I'm ironing, I just slide it to one side and let go. I don't have to lift it up and set it on its heel (although it will sit on its heel if you want it to). This is the best iron I've ever owned and I would recommend it to anyone.

Good quality iron
This iron heats fast, it is easy to add water, meets all my expectations. The auto lift takes a little getting used to, but is very convenient. Definitely recommend it. It compliments my mini that I take to classes.

Excellent product
Excellent product this is my second purchase in last 5 years the previous one last me for years before it fell on floor and stop working. I love steam feature, weight is light and no fear to burn as it automatically shuts off. It is little pricy but will last you for years if you use it with care.

Great iron
Great iron! It takes a moment to get use to. As soon as you take your hand off the handle it lifts up. Steam worked when it gets hot. I do use the steam. The first Iron I recieved the steam stopped working when the resivor was half full. It would leave alot of water on my project. I ordered a replacement and it works great. I do love the iron. I also have the mini. I use them daily.

Save your money
Update: 9-20-2025Company replaced my iron. Except now have had it a short time and all it does is leak water out the steam holes. I will never buy another one of these. A waste of not.Previous review:I love my iron, it’s been 2 years. But now the auto lift has quit working. Disappointing, since these are so expensive.

Love this iron.
I love this iron. The water tank holds so much water and lasts so much longer than my previous iron. I absolutely love that I can leave it flat and it will lift off the mat. Saves my wrist. Would buy again.

Returning
I use my iron everyday under heavy usage. My Rowenta after years of said heavy daily usage started leaking a little bit. Any iron of any brand tends to do this at some point if you use the steam function instead of a spray bottle. Why, I don't know, but they do. I am now using my Rowenta as my household iron.So I thought I would give the Oliso a try. It's been out for quite some time. My sister has had hers for a few years with no issues. Glad she likes hers but not a fan of this iron.Steam function is subpar. Most of the steam comes out after releasing the handle and the iron lifts. The steam button is small and if you move your hand forward just enough to press the button, it activates the auto lift (which is most of the time for me because I am petite and have small hands). There are only three steam options: off, a little, a lot. My Rowenta had several levels which is more preferable depending on the project and/or fabric and the buttons were larger and much easier to reach. The soleplate does glide easily. I was hoping since this is marketed as a quilter's iron that it would iron better. It is much lighter than I anticipated which does make a difference in the amount of time and effort in ironing fabric. The Oliso reservoir is ok. Holds an ok amount of water. Is easy to fill and see the water level. The auto lift function is a novel idea. I will give credit to Oliso for this groundbreaking idea. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I don't like it near as much as I thought, or hoped, I would. Admittingly, it took about a week to get used to this function. I initially would set it up on its heel out of habit. Although it can set on it's heel, I noticed it isn't as stable as a standard iron. But after awhile, became very used to the auto-lift function. A novel idea but unnecessary. Also, for the auto-lift feet to glide smoothly, internally they need to be greased. I was working on a project and noticed a brown staining. I had just used a burst of steam. I flipped the iron over and noticed that a little bit of the grease for the forward foot had come out and that is what stained my fabric. Thankfully I was folding a hem and it was on the backside. The color (I got the blue) is pretty. I do like the cord length and the ball to allow the cord to pivot.I am returning because it literally stopped working. Now and then the steam function would not work. Whatever. But then as I am ironing a quilt top, I set the iron to the side, it auto-lifted, I moved the panel to iron the next section and nothing. It shut itself completely off. I unplugged it and I turned off the steam function and turned it all the way down, as Oliso states should do each time you turn the iron off (and I do). Steam was escaping for more than 20 minutes after I unplugged it. Plugged/unplugged it several more times over a period of a few hours. Never came back on. I have had this iron for exactly one month, been using it regularly and following the manufacturer's guidelines.Maybe this would work great for a household iron. Could match the iron color choices to your decor or just your favorite color.I am wholly disappointed in this iron. Couple things are nice but not almost $200 nice. I am returning this iron and will be purchasing another Rowenta for a third of the price and way better function in all aspects.
