Small Compact, Good driver support for Windows 10
This is is a small, compact box with easy access to the controls on the front, and the connections on the back. For me, the primary use of this is to use a turntable to copy vinyl albums to digital files. These days, lots of turntables include the function for this, meaning there are fewer devices available. A basic Soundblaster style external soundcard is an alternative, but even an X2-HD didn't provide the warmth of vinyl translated into digital. The Music Hall does great job, I've also had zero driver problems connecting to Windows 10, which is more than I can say for other solutions.

More than a simple PHONO
This phono preamp (Music Hall pa2.2) which covers both MM [moving magnet] and MC [moving coil] cartridges, is in fact more than a simple phono for turntables. It can also act as a little DAC! The LINE IN gives one the opportunity to connect any external source (CD player, tuner, etc.) but most remarkably it can be used to connect to your phone, your iPad, or computer as a streamer (via. 3.5 mm [1/4"] jack to dual RCA cable) hence you need not to buy an expensive streamer which has not even a proper displayer to show you which song is played. I checked this with Amazon Unlimited Music, Internet Radio and YouTube ...One of crucial features of this phono is its volume knob that can be used if you use VARIABLE LINE OUT.An extra feature is USB OUT which can be used for recording ...All the main connections are RCA, and not balanced XLR. yet since my active speakers have XLRs I used RCA to XLR cables. If it is nearby and at your eyelevel it is easy to see the name of each switch or use headphone, otherwise if it is in a lower shelf you have to devise your own solution! ... Excellent preamp!!
I am an audiophile and will only listen to high quality music. I have very esoteric gear - B&O turntable, Spica speakers, M&K sub, all oxygen free copper connections. When my very expensive JBL Gold preamp died, I was just looking for a phono pre. I tried others (Pyle, Pro-Ject, Rolls, Art...) and they all sounded terrible. This Music Hall pre gives me a very flat response. I've measured some of the noise and distortion specs for the phono and line inputs and they are slightly better than listed in the specs. It sounds VERY GOOD, especially for the price. The USB works well. I recorded a bit of my Mobile Fidelity "Late Night Guitar", and a UHQR "Dark Side of the Moon". They sounded as good any 96 kHz/24 bit digital files I've heard before.I definitely recommend this product.

Very Quiet Pre-Amp and Excellent Analog to Digital Converter!
Very quiet phono pre-amp just as advertised! I'm currently using it with a MM cartridge. It delivers a wide, open, clear, and dynamic sound. Excellent quality Analog to Digital conversion (ADC). I am absolutely enjoying listening to and recording my LPs with the PA2.2. I was looking for a high quality sound and this unit even exceeded my high expectations :)I was somehow expecting the PA2.2 to also be a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC). Please note that this is not the case. The PA2.2 does not offer DAC functionality! No fault of the PA2.2. I made an incorrect assumption by not reading the production descriptions more carefully.Overall, the PA2.2 has excellent performance and SOLID construction. Highly recommended!

Do yourself a favor buy this amp!
I took weeks researching a good Phono amp to give me the ability to use headphones with my Project Debut Carbon Esprit turntable. This amp has it all! The build quality is first rate and the sound is even better!

Perfect Solution, Great Product
This product was the perfect solution for my current setup. I am using this to connect my Project Debut Carbon DC to a Pair of JBL LSR308 Studio Monitors (using an Art Cleanbox Pro to bump the signal from consumer to pro audio level). The monitors have independent volume controls and I wanted a phono amp that would allow me to set the volume on the monitors and control them from one location near the turntable which this product does an excellent job of. I was a bit worried about quality of the phono amp seeing as how this is an “all in one” type product, but after listening to this for several days now I am very happy with the sound quality and versatility. I have tested everything but the USB out to record my music to a computer and I must say I am very impressed with how well everything functions and how solid the build quality is. I ran a Bluetooth adaptor into the line in and used the switch on the front to play music from my phone and I was very surprised with the sound quality of streaming music. The headphone amp and mono switch is also a great addition, they both work well and really brought my mono records to life. I highly recommend this product.

Worth every penny.
I live in a condo with no AC so I haven't purchased a new set of speakers. I wouldn't be able to listen to speakers for me to really enjoy them, so I opted for this Music Hall. It has everything I wanted. I recently got a turntable and a MC cartridge. Sound to my Focal Elear headphones is pretty impressive. I can also feed my audio DAC that I used for stream from a NAS to MacMini into the line in on the Music Hall too. I don't think I'll ever rip my records so I haven't used the ADC circuity. It supports older Mono records if you have a mono cartridge. I haven't tried Mono either. The increase gain setting with my Ortofon Cadenza Blue cartridge is good enough to drive the headphone amp.

Must get all-in one Audiophile quality unit at a reasonable cost.
Excellent product so far. Much better sound delivered during vinyl playback than the phono preamp in my HTR. Extremely quiet background sound, dynamic playback sound. Great build as the unit is solid, sturdy switches, numerous inputs/outputs and simple to use. Headphone amp has exceeded my expectations, delivering perfect sound thru my headphones for both vinyl playback as well as from the pre-out from my HTR. Have not tried the analog to digital converter yet. Currently in use with a Music Hall MMF-5 turntable and Audioquest Coral interconnects.

Disappointed , not up to the task
Bought the item trying to replace the phono stage of a 30 year old preamp. I heard a difference right in the beginning I thought it would become better after break in period . It did not and I noticed the noise level is higher than with my old preamp. On top of htat the gain is slightly less than what I had , even with the volume at maximum. The overall impression is it has a less cleaner sound , with attenuated high frequencies. I did multiple A/B comparisons with several records , changed the interconnect cables , cartridge needles. Could be the RIAA equalisation curves,The only plus is the excellent build, feels very solid and it is finished impeccably. Did not try on MC, will try it next, The headphone stage is VERY powerful unfortunately this was not my focus. USB A/D convertor is so-so it does not match my Asus STX card
