It really is worth the extra money
As a working artist, I like the better brands like Gamblin and/or Winsor & Newton. I do like some of the top ends like Sennelier (their ultramarine really is to die for), too, and Old Holland. The Old Holland paints have a really creamy, smooth quality that I love working with, so I get them when I can. My pictures are intended to be craftsmanlike - the visual equivalent of a cherry side table made in Amish country (near me in PA). That means using the very best materials, shaped and constructed with a lot of time and care. Old Holland paints are part of that attitude for me.

I love Old Holland paints. They are pricy, but a dab will go a long way making it a very economical purchase. Great quality. Professional paints.
