Freshness in a bag!
I found a new recipe for refrigerator dill pickles, but was having a horrible time finding dill seeds in my local grocery stores. All I could find was dill weed, and that's more bitter than seeds. ANYway, I turned to Amazon, and found these, but they were offered in an 8 oz size...thought it might be overkill, I only needed 1 T per pint jar, but hey, they were priced SO right! Well, the smell when I opened the bag immediately told me I had made a great decision! The freshness just jumped out of that bag and into my nose. And then into my new pickle recipe. The pickles had the most delish dill flavor, even after only a week of fermenting in the 'fridge, that we ate the entire 3 jars in one week. Next time, I made 6 jars, and I'm getting ready to make the NEXT 6 jars, and these seeds are what I give the credit for a fantastic pickle. They're just so very fresh and flavorsome! Definitely a great product, and I'll be coming back for more in a few more weeks, we're in dill pickle heaven right now!

This actually works for garden
These are good live dill seeds. We had serious doubts for getting this not as a spice but as seeds for our garden. And this dill seeds are just amazing and so much cheaper compared to purchasing a bag of just 100 or so seeds in the garden store! We have nice dill plants growing in our garden (a looooot of them)And still have a lot of seeds. Both are delicious and healthy!Thank you!

There certainly wasn't anything wrong with them, even though ...
There certainly wasn't anything wrong with them, even though it was more than three times the amount of seeds I was about to get for slightly less than the price I was about to pay! These are a big bargain. I pickled carrots and jalapeños with mostly these dill seeds and brine, and will likely get months and months of other pickles out of the bag altogether. I seriously doubted I'd get the quality I received. Thanks.

Awesome, Fresh Dill Seeds!
Very, VERY fragrant, thus proving, beyond any doubt, that this product is fresh, and natural. I am Latvian, and Latvians can't IMAGINE cooking without dill! It's in virtually every savory dish, salad, and soup! Price very good too, and arrived very quickly, in perfect condition. I WILL be back for more, and certainly will recommend to friends! Now I just need a 2 LB bag of Dill WEED for under 10 dollars as well from you folks, and I will be happy as a clam, as we say here in New England...It's cold outside, so it's white clam chowder and lobster bisque season, so I need the milder part of the plant, namely, the ground, dried weed... Just let me know when you have it!

A lot of dill seed for a decent price.
Mmmm, dill seed. How can you make soup or an herb bread or a potato casserole or that herbal-cream-sauce chicken dish without it? You can't. This isn't quite as dilly as some other products I've used in years past, but it'll do just fine. And there's a whole lot of it so you don't have to skimp. If you like to have dill seed around, this is one good buy.

Perfect! Just what I needed for canning my pickles!
A good value for the price. Shipped quickly. The package was much bigger than I expected. I used these for my dill pickles and relish. It was perfect! The pickles turned out great! I plan to store the dill seed in a glass mason jar that I have vaccum-sealed using my Food Saver and the attachment for jars (https://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-T03-0023-01-Wide-Mouth-Jar-Sealer/dp/B00005TN7H/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1470139467&sr=8-1&keywords=mason+jar+vacuum+sealer). This will keep them air-tight and fresh for a long time so I can use them again next year. Very pleased with this purchase.

High quality dill seeds for a great price
I do a lot of canning and buy spices in bulk. Food to Live seems to have the best prices online for the bulk purchases I need. This review is for a pound of dill seeds that I use for canning dill pickles. They are high quality and fresh. They had an amazing aroma when I opened the package. I would recommend them highly to anyone.

Great Value
This year we are growing three cucumber vines in our garden. When we made our first batch of dill pickles it cost $4 for 1 ounce of dill seeds at the grocery store. This is 1 pound for $10. I opened a jar of garlic dill pickles we made with these and they are great!

Good for pickles
Dill seeds are not that easy to get. Great for pickling. Value for money.

Not for planting
I bought these with the intention of planting. What I hadn’t realized was that these were not intended for this purpose. I believe they treat them with radiation and they are not viable seeds. Only a very tiny portion germinated. The seller should be more clear about this in the description.

ability to sprout
The seeds are fine for cooking purpose, I suppose. I haven't used it as a seasoning yet. I wanted to use them as seeds. These are very poor seeds. I got about 1 in 100 sprouting(being generous). That was in July. I will try again next spring and see if I have better luck.

Smells wonderful!
These dill seeds smell like dill! They are lovely. I will find out how they taste in the near future, just waiting on the final product, but so far the smell is fantastic. I read that I could use these for planting, so I want to give that a try and grow my own dill weed. I look forward to using these dill seeds many more times and definitely would purchase again, as needed.

Great for pickling.
I use these for making pickles. Great substitute as I live in Northern Ontario and we do not always have fresh dill available except for in the summer months.
