do not recommend
I waited until I was able to do 2 applications to make sure I knew for sure... so far I haven't noticed any change in my dogs flea issue. She's 6 and I've never had to treat her before. Mostly an inside pet. This fall has been different. New neighbors with 5 big filthy dogs. Although they are not in my yard, they share the same fence line. So my dog got fleas. Anyway, I've flea proofed my house and everything in it. Only place they live is on my furry friend. I'll be taking her to our vet for real help. Maybe I received a defective product or it just doesn't work.

Works great, recommend all the time.
Have 3 inside dogs and live on mini farm in Ga. I do my best to keep up with the dates, applying new drops a few days early. I did a good bit of research so I could purchase drops that cover the pests we have most problems with here and the pests which carry highest risks. Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes being my biggest target, extra insurance against diseases like heartworms a must in a state where the mosquito is practically the state bird. Our winter's, especially the last 5 yrs or more just aren't cold enough to help us by killing off the larve and they get worse every year. Anything not covered by these drops I can treat separately at minimal cost and still make this a great deal. I also wanted something that would offer waterproof protection as we have several streams and a pond (more mosquito territory) and with as minimal cost as I could find. These drops fit the bill. We haven't had any problems with fleas, ticks or apparently any other pests. I have told several of my daughters young adult friends who have pets as they have been spending big bucks on some big name drops for less protection. It may become necessary to change drops at some point to one that uses a different main ingredient because pests do build up tolerances over time but I will likely just toggle between the two. Highly recommend these drops.

Great product, great price
Great product, great price! I have never once found a flea or tick on either of my dogs when they have this product on. I find ticks on my just after taking them out to use the bathroom, but they are always bug free. I've been using this for years, taking multiple dogs into the woods, weeds, lakes, etc, and have had an issue. The one month I did not put this on my dog in the winter, we had a few warmer days and I started noticing fleas on my dog. I can't believe how well this product works for the price.

It works for us
I'm looking for two things with this type of product: 1. I want to keep my dogs and my home free of fleas and ticks and2. I want to do this without seeing any negative side effects. Since I began using VetGuard on my Bassett Hound and Shiba Inu several years ago, they have shown no signs associated with fleas, ticks or even mosquito bites, and neither has had any noticeable side effects after applying monthly. I do give them a break during the colder weather and begin applying again in the spring. This regimen has worked very well and the price is also very reasonable. That deserves 5 stars in my view.

Just as good as advantix
This works just as well as advantix, especially for tickets, which are quite bad near me in new england. There are very few products on the market that actually repel ticks rather than just kill them after biting like other products (this will also kill after biting, but I rarely ever see one bite while using this product). Because seriously who wants dead ticks lying around the house? That's what you get with frontline and similar products.Recommend applying every 3 weeks for tick protection. It says 4 weeks but the ticks repellant is every 3 (it's in the fine print in all similar products) but I'll take it to avoid those nasty ticks! The smell is nice too (smells herbal).

Not effective in Florida.
This product did nothing for my dog. We treat the house and yard, and switched to this product from advantage to try and save a few dollars. What a waste. Would not recommend. Not sure the 5 star reviews are legitimate, or these users live in low risk areas. We live in central Florida, and we now have a dog with multiple flea bites.

Unsatisfied
Followed instructions specifically. Made sure to get it directly on the skin in the 3 spots it needed to go. Both dogs still had fleas 2 weeks later until I used a homemade flea spray on them. I did do the 2nd dose and it seems to be keeping fleas off them now. No more itching. So I don't know if it doesn't fully spread out or what but I won't buy this brand again. Too much money for it to work worse than cheap Walmart brands.

Disappointed
I ordered this product as I had used it previously and it worked great.. Sadly, this time around it gave one of my dogs a bad skin rash and wasn't effective on either of my dogs. We ended up at the vet and now they are both on an oral flea preventive. The price was as expected and it arrived in a timely manner! The vendor/seller was great, but the product itself, not so great.
