*** Mass Fly Gravesite ***
Just look at my picture, that pretty much tells you everything. You're lucky I purposely didn't zoom in, otherwise you'd see that mass of black is solid fly corpses, only the ones on top clinging to life as more enter and squish them down. Seriously, it reminded me of the movie What Dreams May Come when Robin Williams is walking over the ground made up of solid writhing bodies. "Help Me!" from The Fly movies is an understatement. Holy Moly I am glad I am not a fly. Anyway, yeah it does smell. But that's what attracts them. So put it somewhere far from your patio / hang out area, and not only will it draw them there but you'll be responsible for a mass flyicide!

Works great in my residential yard
We have a fly problem due to having a compost tumbler in our side yard. We have a quarter acre lot. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to position the fly trap sufficiently far from our windows due to the small size of our lot. We hung the trap on a branch near our trash cans, about 20 feet from the closest unscreened window. The trap works great! Right away it caught probably over 100 flies. We experienced many fewer flies near our unscreened window. (We open it only to dump vegetable waste into the compost tumbler.) And the smell of the trap is perceptible only within a few feet. We're very happy with the effectiveness of the trap, and will get another when this one strops working in a month or so.

Amazing product!
1) Works Great: I have purchased this for years - it works great!! We have an 40 acre old farmstead, surrounded by woods, dairy farms and cornfields. Unfortunately, that means lots of flies. I hang these in a ring around the area where we spend most of our time, and they are like a giant fly vacuum - no flies in the ringed area! (Just hang them far enough back so you don’t smell them)2) Better than other brands: I tried a side by side test with another popular brand. These won hands down.3) Good Service: Once, when I bought these from an on-line distributor, it was missing a part. I called the company and they replaced the part fast - and gave a me a sneak preview of their new product. It is a “mom & pop” business. It is great to support a business like this.4) Hint - To make hanging & disposal easy: Tie a string or cord where you want to hang the trap. Tie an “S-hook” at the end of the string. Hang the red string of the trap on the S hook. When you want to dispose of the trap, bring a kitchen garbage bag, lift it if up around the trap with just the red string and S hook outside of the bag. Tie the bag closed tightly to reduce the smell. Unhook the red string from the S hook and let it fall down into the garbage bag. You may want to double bag the garbage bag.

Extremely effective, but very messy
Pros: This caught flies by the thousands, so it really works. Relatively easy to set up and use.Cons: Flimsy bag that punctures easily. I double bagged in use with a gallon ziplock bag taped to outside of trap bag. Very problematic disposal when full. I double bagged in heavy duty garbage bag, but less than ideal, since disgusting contents spill out inside garbage bags. The fliesbegone soda bottle traps offer a simple, neat and clean disposal, but allow captured flies to easily fly right back out again. This would be the best choice if they incorporated a neck down funnel entrance into the trap similar to the bag traps.

Wonderful Product!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Flies be gone. The flies have been terrible this year. I have tried other products which worked just okay. But, I was still getting between 1 and 8 flies in my house everyday. I put 2 of these out. 1 at either side of my house. They are both full of different, types and sizes of flies and gnats. I have not had 1 fly in my house since I put these out. I would definitely recommend this product if you hate flies entering your house. It was the 3rd day that It really started to collect the flies.

We had these all over the camp and they did a great job. We were down wind of the garbage ...
My 1st experience with the flies be gone traps were Afghanistan, We had these all over the camp and they did a great job. We were down wind of the garbage and sewage dump for the local city so we definitely had a fly problem. We had about 40 of these traps all over the camp and they were more effective than anything else we had. I returned from my deployment and my neighbor had some cows and chickens and we had a massive fly problem, I found these on Amazon and put 2 up in my yard and you could see a significant drop in the fly population. I now own a couple of chickens and keep one of these by their pen and the flies leave us alone and love the trap.

Gotta keep them away from your nose though after they start to get good at attracting flies they are not very easy on ...
So many flies and other bugs are attracted to this. We live next to a farm and have installed 5 around our house. They collect hundreds if not thousands of flies within a week. Gotta keep them away from your nose though after they start to get good at attracting flies they are not very easy on the nose.
