DON'T BUY - TOO COMPLICATED - tech support stinks
I am writing this as an IT professional who uses a lot of different computer software.I bought this direct from Acronis. I like their disk imaging products and the cloud backup seemed like a good value, plus security protection for the computer as a bonus!WRONG.Once installed it I could never get the cloud backup to work - cryptic messages - no log files to look at the errors. I opened a case via their web form and it took a WEEK for someone to respond, and then they closed it within 48 hours when i did not get back to them fast enough. SO now i am stuck having paid $100 for a program that i can't use. I have no intention of wasting HOURS with tech support trying to resolve a problem.The user interface on the computer is complicated and does not provide enough information to find files, errors, specific computers, etc.

I would give it less stars if possible
Sucks, after uninstall something got left behind and b)ocked access to any exe file on Win 10. Of course now no uninstall option on computer and Acronis is no help. Any software that won't fully uninstall should be considered malwareband and avoided at all costs. Buyer BEWARE.

The reason that I purchased this software was for the backup feature. Having a backup feature is nice to have, and now your computer data will be safe and secure. The backup option will run on a schedule.

Acronis short comings
I have been an Acronis owner for a number of years. Recently I checked their website for Black Friday and Christmas specials. They now have subscription service and online storage. I tried reaching out to the company for some questions and advice... BEWARE... this is foreign support. The CHAT feature is not functional if you want to ask questions about the HOME version, you have to email Acronis... and they do not reply. I sent a message to them for 8 days in a row, today I got a mysterious phone call with a funny country code and I do not answer foreign phone calls...the number was from Switzerland. I can imagine the pain a person must go through to get support from these guys, they don't return calls and they are foreign based... AND you can't speak with ANYONE about their product. This is a recipe for disaster if you have a need for support. Today I will look for a replacement product

BE AWARE NORTON SECURITY MUST BE UNISTALLED FOR ACRONIS ACTIVE PROTECTION TO BE ON
I have used Acronis for backup for 5 machines (external ssd not cloud) and potential recovery (not yet needed) for many many years and ransomware protection was added a year or two ago. No problem. BUT with Acronis recently becoming "Cyber Protect" and my purchasing it, I discovered installing it required UN-installing my Norton (5 machines) so I stopped the Acronis install and today had a chat with Acronis tech. SO it is customers can have the original Acronis features with Active Protection off OR drop Norton. Our security protocols require manual Norton updates at startup and several times manually during the day -- so we stay really current and Norton has a lot of experience with malware beyond what Acronis has. As I write, the new Acronis is not yet installed and may not be. ACRONIS HAS CREATED AN UNTENABLE SITUATION IMO !

has become a questionable subscription service
This is a backup program. You simply back up your computer to an external device. You can use the Acronis cloud, but I wouldn't recommend that for both security (they can see your files) or because it takes much more time. So why is it necessary to be a subscription for backups?? They do it for absolutely no other reason that to make an extra buck off of you. $79 a year for three computers is way too much to back up to my own device, on my own network!! Worse, I went in to delete my billing info so they would not bill me and they purposely do not provide it anywhere on your account profile. Who does that?? Only someone who knows their subscription is not popular and doesn't want you to change or delete it. They also use a third party for their billing, and that third party is very difficult to work with.

Not compatible with Windows 11 despite claim from Acronis
Cyber Protect Home is NOT compatible with Windows 11 as claimed by Acronis. One of their drivers is not compatible with Windows Core Isolation / Win11 Memory Integrity, a critical security feature in Win11 that ends up disabled. Looking at the Acronis forum, there doesn't even seem to be any attempt at Acronis to get their software updated to actually be compatible. Their knowledge base simply recommends to disable this security feature in Win11. No thanks.
