SABON Body Scrub, Tropic, 21.2 oz

While in New York I stopped in the Sabon store and was introduced to this scrub. After a sample hand treatment, my hand remained baby soft all day with just a subtle lovely scent. I would have purchased the scub on site but, Unfortunately, I only had a carry-on so I could not purchase the scrub while in New York. While shopping with my favorite online retailer, Amazon, i found the scrub and order it immediately. Unlike so many other reviews, my scrub arrived packaged perfectly; no leakage and sealed tightly. No other online retailer delivers as quickly and accurately as Amazon. I remain a fan and now I’m a new fan of this scrub.

The lid won't open... it took me very long time trying to open this thing.... Make it easier for customer please. I would review the body scrub again if the bottle is easier..

I have used this before, bought direct but it is easy to just order here. I visited the store and smelled all the scents, this is definitely the best one of them all. Great texture, works well with a scrub brush on my feet, the oil leaves my skin very soft and the scent lasts. One word of caution....because it is in a glass jar, if you go to open the lid and find it is too hard to do, carefully place it on a table and use a rubber lid grabber, proceed slowly and take your time. I accidentally broke mine because I fought it so hard the jar dropped from my hand and glass shattered all over my bathroom floor.

The body scrub itself works very well on my skin - so smooth that I feel like a newborn baby lol. But I really don't like the jar as it is so easily broken (the first delivery was broken and oil was leaked everywhere, thus I had to return it for a replaced new one), and the cap doesn't seal very well. Especially when I'm moving and put it in a box, the oil is so easily leaked. It would be perfect if the manufacturer would consider to improve the packaging.

And I have tried many! I am a fan of self care activities, especially those related to skin care. I have tried many items, and looked for less expensive options, but I always return to this one, and have used it for over ten years. I use it once a week, and it leaves my skin super soft, visibly and by touch. I use Lavender Apple. Besides the visible results with softness and moisture, the smell is delicious. This product helps my skin remain youthful and beautiful. Highly recommended!

The packaging problems seem to have been solved. Mine was packed perfectly. I had no problem with leaking and also no trouble opening the jar. This scrub is great at exfoliating and it leaves my skin really soft. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the tropic scent which smells a little too much like bubble-gum or candy to me. I usually go for fruit scents over floral ones for my own skin, so I'm going to keep trying to find a good fruit scent for me. I have used the vanilla coconut (which was a gift to me) and loved it.

I've been using this for a while now and love it. My skin feels like silk after my shower now. I want to comment on the leakage. I've purchased this directly from Sabon as well and it's the same way from them. The oil in the product is thin and some will get past the lid in shipping. The jar will be oily when it arrives. It will appear that it's not full, but I think that's because the scrub settles at the bottom and the oil remains on top. I've never had any completely spilled as some others have reported. I would return it right away if that were the case.When I purchased from Amazon, it was wrapped the same as when I purchased directly from Sabon online, in 3 layers. First layer was the original Sabon wrapping, it still had the sticker from Sabon. This layer will have the most oil on it. The second layer was a sort of baggie and had no oil on the outside. The third layer was tightly wrapped bubble-wrap which covered the entire container quite well. My method to unpack is to remove the first 2 layers, then sit the container, still in it's original wrapping, on a towel, or paper towel, to catch the outer oil. I usually do this at my bathroom sink. I remove the original wrapper, then sit the entire container under some hot running water to remove the outer oil. Using a towel, I dry the container. It will still be slippery, I'm not sure this can be avoided. I then us a towel to remove the lid.I keep a pair of (unused lol) carryout chopsticks in the shower. Don't break them apart. The thick end is perfect for stirring the oil into the scrub. It also makes a great scoop to retrieve small amounts without dropping any of that precious scrub!As for the scent, I've only ever used the mango kiwi. I love it so much. I really need to try another but it's hard to switch when you know what you like. Another bonus I've noticed is that my bathroom will smell like this scrub for a couple days after I've used it. No complaints here!I hope this review is helpful.

Sabon has high quality scrubs that do a great job of exfoliating but don't leave me feeling as oily as other brands do. I used to worry I'd slip and fall in the shower after using my Body Shop sea salt scrub because of all the oils and moisturizers but this scrub has an appropriate amount of oil without making everything a slippery, greasy-feeling nightmare. Plus the lavender-apple smells amazing.
