Very Customizable
This feeder was perfect for what I needed. I work long days and am unable to feed my cat as he needs (smaller portions, more often in the day). This feeder has a lot of customizable options such as portion size and time of day. Along with that, it also has two different sized fans for varying portion size. You can also set a portion size on the screen to dispense more food. There are four meals that can be set to dispense at any time during the day with customizable meal sizes. The meal sizes can go quit large (up to 32), however I'm not sure how the different fan sizes affects the amount of portions. The feeder also has the option to be powered by USB or by size D batteries. This is great for if the power goes out and you still want your animals fed. While not the easiest thing to use, the manual does a great job of explaining how to adjust various things.Pros:~Battery backup (Lasts incredibly long, 12+ months)~Customizable meal sizes (up to 4 meals/up to 32 portions per meal)~Optional voice recording to call animals with~Easy refill~Extremely long USB power cableCons:~Awkward cable placement seems to stop from being flush on wall~No backlight option on screen can be difficult to see at night

Great features, works well.
This is a great cat food dispenser. I will say it was a bit of a learning curve to program it, but the features more than make up for that. I really should have bought this one in the first place instead of the last one that broke on me, even though this one is a bit more expensive. I like that it has two sizes of dispenser mechanisms for small and large kibble, and the manual button to dispense one portion at any time. So far it is still working very reliably, and I would definitely recommend it. The only thing I would change is the lid, as it would be helpful if it were clear so you can notice when the food is getting low more easily. It holds a lot, which can also make it easier to forget about it. I've started putting a reminder in my phone so I remember to check the level regularly.

A useful and reliable feeder
Plug and play device that hasn't failed in a year of use. Set feeding times and forget. Your animal soon comes to understand when food will be dispensed, and the little whirr as the pellets fall into the feeding tray alerts them to the fact. Can be programmed for various numbers of feeds each day at programmable times. Runs off AC power with battery backup or battery alone.Simple set up and dismantles for easy clean up. Make sure you are using a suitable size pellet that will not seize the distribution mechanism. Put a cheap video camera close by to check that your animal is feeding well and be able to speak to it through camera's audio.

Works great
I have now had it for 3.5 years and it has never given me any trouble. Easy to adjust meal sizes and timing. The cats can't figure out how to dismantle it.

Godsend for cats that could get a harassment charge
I’ve had this game changer for 5 years. It has worked very, very well in the time that I’ve had it. What led me to purchasing it was partly because I was a full time student also working full time, and I just wasn’t able to be home often enough to feed my girl as much as she needed to be fed. She is not compatible with free feeding; she will eat so fast that she will throw up whole kibble, then eat it again. Hence, the automatic feeder. The biggest reason is because my cat is an absolute MENACE when she gets hungry. She would chase me around, screaming her head off, for the 30-60 minutes before it was time to feed her. In the kitchen? She’d jump up on the counter to scream in my face. In the morning? She’d paw at my face and wake me up before my alarm even could. Trying to ignore her? She’d swipe at my ankles. Enter this godsend. When it came in? She learned that I wasn’t involved in her getting food anymore and she LEFT. ME. ALONE. She paws at the feeder and if she sticks her paw up the dispenser, she can knock a few pieces of kibble out, which I couldn’t care less about. When the feeder does run down, the portions become inconsistent, so I try to top it off once a week or so. Otherwise, I’ve left her with a sitter for 3 weeks before and the feeder was maybe 2/3 empty. She does only get one “serving” 3 times a day. It’s easy enough to program your specifics. I will say, if it loses power for an extended period of time, it will reset itself. Sometimes I have had it save the settings if it’s gotten power back quick enough, but i couldn’t tell you what that cutoff is. I will say I wish it had up and down buttons for the quantities. If you click the button one too many times while setting the time or serving size, you’re pressing it 59 more times for the minutes, 23 for hours, or 38 for servings. It goes up to 39 servings dispensed at once (a nice, round number.) This guy is easy enough to clean. The “dish” part comes off if you lift the storage piece up, which can easily be cleaned. I wipe it out more often than I take it off to fully clean it.TLDR; if your cat is a bully at food time, this *should* help.
