I use this heating pad for relief from endometriosis pain and leg and joint pain. It provides a soothing healing heat (I often fall asleep while using it) and is a must-have item in my pain management arsenal. This is actually a repurchase for me. I had my original one for years until it got plugged into an incompatible power outlet while I was traveling. (My fault, not the devices.) It didn't work after that, and since it is so helpful to me, I repurchased another unit. Even though they are really expensive, they are worth it if you're dealing with pain. They are well built and durable - just be mindful of the wattage requirements when travelling and don't make the same silly mistake I did.

Back problems

I got it in 1989 when I was receiving physical therapy after an auto accident. The therapy center ordered it for me, and it was far superior to anything on the consumer market. It has the older "dead pedal" style switch which must be held down, and temperature can only be regulated by releasing the switch when it gets too hot. Last year I bought a second one and was pleased to see they had updated the design so the switch has three temperature settings and an automatic timer. Otherwise, the product hasn't changed noticeably in 30 years. Why mess with perfection?

I’ve now owned three of these quality heating pads. I had two at one time and it was great to have one near the bed and one by my favorite chair. But I (almost reluctantly) gave one to my daughter who was in pain because I still had one, right? Then the dog chewed through the power cord of my one remaining precious Thermophore heating pad! Aargh! Now I have just one but it is carefully unplugged and the cord wrapped around it after each use.After all, this mean heating pad will burn my pain down to an acceptable level in a relatively short time. Yes it gets very very HOT! It really won’t burn you. Seriously. But you might think it will in those early moments as the heat continues to rise. This pad is not for sissies. It is for people with pain that will not be eased by those average mild-mannered drug-store heating pads. If you have pain like this, you know you need this pad.

Back in old day, there were so many people dying because of pneumonia in USA. But I have learned that at the Battle Creek hospital where they used thermophore (hot and cold compression back in a day) no patients died with pneumonia. That is a power of natural remedy. Of course, if the condition is bad I would say don’t risk it but this product is truly being a big blessing to my life. When my lungs are congested I use it and feel the comfort afterwards.
