Change any old laptop to a monitor
Have an old laptop that has a good screen to use as a monitor. Instead of buying a new monitor just buy this. You can connect any AV device with hdmi and connect it to your laptop USB and its good to go. You need VLC or any other camera software that will project the device in your laptop screen, that's it!Have connected even my xbox to it. There is a very slight lag of the video rendering but its negligible.

My one suddenly stopped working after months of moderate use. Another disadvantage is that, the audio output of the device is mono, not stereo.
