Perfect book for funding great hikes.
So glad I came across this book! I moved to Denver a few years ago and had always wanted to go to places with water. Didn't have much luck asking people or looking on the maps for places. This book does it all for me now. Also like how the book has a map of Colorado with each area numbered , so if there is a particular area you want to go you look at map and see what #'s are in that area and then can easily see what's what.

Great Book!
I had the pleasure of meeting the author, Ms. Paul on my hike down from photographing St. Mary's Falls here in Colorado Springs, CO in 2011. We talked for a while and she told me she was writing a book on Colorado waterfalls! What a coincidence! She asked for my name and said she would acknowledge me in her book, and she did! Thank you Ms. Paul!As an amatuer wildlife/ landscape photographer, I'm always looking for new and interesting subjects and locations. Waterfalls and cascades can be some of the most beautiful subjects to photograph. This book has given me many new waterfall locations that I wasn't aware of, as well as additional information of places I already knew about.I like the layout of this book as everything is well organized and thorough. The locations are very clear with maps and GPS coordinates. The difficulty level and approximate times required to hike to the locations are also very helpful. And there are phone numbers and online resources for these locations as well. Great book!

A sin of omission
As a self-proclaimed waterfall aficionado, I was eager to peruse a guidebook to one of my favorite pastimes…hiking to waterfalls. This book is a reasonably comprehensive compendium of some of the best waterfalls in Colorado. Unfortunately, I can't give it 5 stars…I would rate it 3.5 if that were an option…because there is a dearth of falls from central Colorado, where I live, and none from the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. I understand that there are limits on the number of hikes a guidebook of this size can include. But a good many of the "falls" in this book actually are cascades that pale in comparison to Fravert Basin Falls, Geneva Lake Falls or Minnehaha Falls. The falls on East Cross Creek (Holy Cross Wilderness) below the Bowl of Tears also is missing. I referred to this area as "Shangri-la" when I first saw it from the west side of Halfmoon Pass en route to the Mount of the Holy Cross…certainly a must-see for any waterfall chaser.

There are so many beautiful and amazing places that I've never heard of or been to, and I'm a native here! This book is awesome and helps me to explore the state I love so much! So glad a co-worker recommended it!

Great guide book!
Finding waterfalls can be a difficult task sometimes, but Susan's book gives you all the info you'll need to be a Falls Bagger. I take this book (and her other guidebook, 'Touring Colorado Hot Springs') on all of my roadtrips in Colorado so I can check a few more off the list here and there.
