Out of 100 of them only 4 sprouted. That's a 96% failure rate. Amazon should remove and ban this seller for their the bad products. DON'T BUY FROM THIS SELLER GUYS!!!

A few reviews were negative, so I was pessimistic. The envelope arrived in a respectable time. I grew a few separate batches of both giant bamboo and black bamboo (Same company), to see if they would grow. With the first batch, I followed the instructions on the packet. Unfortunately, I could not get any to grow. So, with the second batch, I used a few suggestions I found through some google searches. One suggested soaking the seeds in warm water for 2 days (I believe the instructions called for a 24 hour soak) I had to regularly pour warm water (about 80-90 degrees F) into the small cup I used for soaking, since the water would cool quickly. I would warm the water 2-3 times per day. After that, I put a few seeds into a slightly larger pot than I used for the previous batch, using the same type of soil. I watered them every day. After about 4 weeks I began to see some small sprouts, and a few days later could tell they were bamboo and not weeds. I read the germination rate was around 20-30% per batch of seeds, which is consistent with these seeds. I look forward to planting and experimenting.

I followed directions to a T, none sprouted. I soaked longer than recommended, none sprouted. I kept them warm, none sprouted. I kept some light, some dark, non sprouted.

I basically gave up on these little fellas but they’re finally sprouting like 2 months later!

I am an experienced grower-these seeds do not germinate or grow. Not a single one was viable after one month, then 2 months later they were just rotting. Disappointing and a waste of time and money.

I am giving this a 3 star based on how easy it was to find, deliver, and instructions on how to start these seeds. Unfortunately I think I received dud seeds, they haven't even started to sprout, and I planted them following the instructions. One possibility as to why is that I was sent the wrong seeds for our region.

Followed directions to the letter and out of a little more than 100 seeds only 22 sprouted. I might not have been as disapointed if at least 50% or a little better had sprouted but a less than 22% is not what I would consider viable seeds. Highly disapointed.
