How do I install it which wires go where

My has 3 wires red blach and yellow which one is ground

How would these fair with using a lower voltage than 12v? I am trying to use this with a fabricated battery pack.

Can this be tied directly into one of the reverse light wiring in the back or do you have to run a relay and get a direct 12v source from fuse box?
